When it comes to someone who has been through the wars and been in the trenches, I have always found it wise to listen to Epigonos.

 

It sure isn't like when I was in school, when my parents made sure I sat in on the parent-teachers conference in 1st grade. We knew my teacher from church. And my parents told her that if I got out of line, she had their permission to spank me, no questions asked, and I would get a second round at home. No questions asked. Guess what? That got the message through. Loud and clear.

Well I have met plenty of beauties with brains, and quite a few were escorts, so i don't agree with you Lee.

 

What did he do specifically that deserved him being fired? Were children being put at risk? Was he doing anything illegal? The email account wasn't even a school official email account but rather a gmail account. His explanation is plausible and seems he is being quite open about it to those investigating. I have a hard time seeing how the punishment fit the crime, if in fact one can really identify a crime.

 

Gentlemen, I know we are starting to venture off the original topic, but I just feel compelled to jump in here. I have to say my peace on this subject of "brains vs beauty"...I happen to be in total agreement with 'wayout' it has been my experience in the (ahem) too numerous years to count that I have been hiring, that brains and beauty very often, in fact more often than not, certainly do go together. I could start a list, but I fear that I would bore all of with this tediousness. Shall we start only with Brandon Steele, Rod Hagen, Marc Dylan and stop with JLA...and bow to the countless men in between... I have had delightful, thoughtful, and enlightened conversations with a host of escorts that are extremely informed on a multitude of subject matter. Epigonos is ABSOLUTELY right. This is my 15th year teaching and NOTHING is ever totally the kid's fault. A few years ago, a student called one of my colleagues a "fucking cunt." Now, there aren't too many more rungs to travel on the profanity ladder once you hit that one. His punishment? A three-hour Saturday school. No, I am not kidding. When the teacher protested, she was told this student's behavior had "improved a LOT from last year." (!!!)

If he was using an iPhone this could have easily happened using craigslist. If you are browsing craigslist on an iPhone and click on the email contact to respond to the ad, it will open a new email message. But if you have multiple email accounts you have to be careful to remember which is your designated default account and if that's the one you want to be communicating from. Otherwise you need to manually scroll to the account you want to send from. If you're out and about it can be easy to forget to remember to check. I've learned this myself from experience (ahem) but fortunately my trip-up was nothing like this.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about in my first post in this thread. The last iOS upgrade (just a few weeks ago) actually switched my default email account on the phone.

I wondered about that, too, but it makes some sense for parents to have a single address for "the teachers" in cases where they're sharing a class. I wouldn't be surprised to see that policy change, though.

We are assuming the two teachers sharing an account was the school's idea.

If they are teaching as a team, there is a high probability that the email account serves as an efficient means for parents to reach one or both of them in case of a question or crisis. I facilitate a discussion group with two other people. We created a shared free GMail account so any one of us can send alerts to our members and receive emails from our members.

I port all of my email into GMail ... there is an option to "Always respond to email from address email was addressed to". Has saved me many many many times..

You do know Saturday school is like the death penalty right? Atleast when you're that age LOL. And you're really in trouble if your parents have to take you.
