Craig's list has salespeople calling? Or are you referring to MeetLocalMen?

 

I know that in the SF Bay Area, there are a lot of escort postings, but many of them seem to be from the few guys posting again and again. Given the number of posts, an "ad" there gets outdated fairly quickly.

I think Craig's List is a good resource but it works differently in each city. In the Los Angeles area, I have found it to be good in purchasing certain items, selling tickets, and recently for my housing search.

 

In San Francisco (where Craig's List originated), there are more relationship oriented listings, more job listings, etc. I have not really looked at how the "List" works in other cities.

 

If you were traveling, it would not hurt to list yourself on the site, as it is free. Likewise, I doubt it would hurt you to list yourself in Los Angeles, but I would not sit by the phone hoping for it to ring off the hook.

Craigslist, the LA erotic section at least, has some potential. The way you can post what you're looking for anonymously is cool, and there seems to be several guys looking to be paid to play lurking (despite the fact that most postings are M looking for F, F looking for $$$...).

But its mostly a place for 'craigslist tag', lots of emails that result in nothing, assuming they have a picture to send which you can make heads or tails of to know if you want to even start the process!

The annoying thing about Craigslist is that it can take a while to get things going, though once you have a phone number to call it's much easier. What's for offer also varies widely... It gets a lot easier after you've spent several weeks watching, conversing with whatever interests you and getting a number to call when you actually want to set something up.

BEWARE of clicking on links inside posts. Lately there've been one or two that fill your screen with popup ads or worse, instal crap.

 

You can *right* click and choose properties to see where a link goes. Also, it's always a good idea to keep your web browser up to date... tools menu, Windows Updates, all the critical ones are probably a good idea!

 

Otherwise Craig's is a good resource if you're patient.

It's funny this topic should come up now, because I'd just been wondering about Craig'sList. There are alot of M4M posts in the Bay Area, many are by the same handful of posters. Some are recognizable as local escorts, others are not. The "non-pros" who advertise there certainly seem to be letting themselves go more reasonably than escorts who advertise at more traditional venues.
