OK how many College Basketball fans do we have out there?

As someone who lives in the middle of Basketball Country with UofL, UK, and IU all close by, this area goes Crazy this time of year.

I remember from the Super Bowl Thread that many are not sports fans, but for me NCAA tournament time is the King of all Sporting Events. (Well maybe second to the Hot Gymnast at Olympic time.)

My favorite is UofL (Louisville) but UK (Kentucky) ,were I believe Taylor said he attends, will probably take it all.

Welcome to March Madness!

The Big 12 is my vote for the best conference this year.

Kansas, Missouri, Texas, or Oklahoma to take it all.

Having said that, this is the first year I can remember in many years that there really is no clearcut favorite(s). The SEC looks strong with those teams you mentioned (UK and UL) as well as Florida.

The ACC and Pac 10 aren't having great years... but Duke, Maryland, Wake Forest, Arizona, Oregon, and Cal could all make noise.

And as horrible as the Big 10 is this year... they may have 5 teams invited... then who knows???

I'm a basketball fan who lost interest once they started wearing Kate Smith's old underpants. :o

Selection Sunday

PREDICTIONS FOR TOP SIXTEEN SEEDS:

First: Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma.

Second: Marquette, Syracuse, Texas, Wake Forrest

Third: Duke, Florida, Pittsburgh, Xaviar

Fourth: Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis

Maryland, Stanford, Wisconsin, Utah could take the place of any of the third or fourth seeded teams.

I expect the final eight to come from these 20 schools.

As a post mortem, my favorite teams are in order: Virginia (my alma mater), North Carolina, Louisville, Villanova and St. John.

As an alumini of UVA, I will root for the ACC, no matter what! After all, the last two champions are Duke and Maryland (and there is no other team I HATE more than Maryland!).

My early pick, contingent upon selection and seeding, to be the champion is Kentucky (who btw lost to Virginia).

But Les, I got the chance to attend a few College games this year, very close to the court. What I noticed was that Loose Tops come with those baggy shorts. Sometimes, if the player doesn't wear an undershirt with the top, you get some good pec and an occasional nipple shot...especially if they are all sweaty while standing at the free throw line.}(

Good picks.

I think that Louisville will be seated higher than Marquette since M lost first round in C-USA Tournament and Louisville won the Conference Tournament. Lots of upsets in Conference Tournaments should make the Big Dance even more fun.

As an alumni of the University of Kansas, I'd go with the Jayhawks all the way. Don't really follow college basketball any more other than the 'Hawks.

Howdy,

I live with someome who grew up going to Rupp Arena, watching Joe B. Hall coach Kentucky and one of his first crushes was on their point guard Kyle Macy. He told me it was crazy each year trying to find a way to get into the UKIT(?). March Madness is a BIG deal around our place<G>

Well, at least as tall as the basketball players are getting to be these days, I wouldn't have to get on my knees for the bukake session, which might not be so bad! :)

I've seen old pix of Kyle Macy when played for KY. He was a true hottie!<g> My partner sent him a get well card back in the day after he broke his jaw in the Pan American games playing for the US team. The coach was Bobby Knight that year. He recalls the big stink during the games because the Puerto Rican womens team took too much practice time on the court and the US mens team was suppose to practice next. Coach Knight supposedly kicked over all their sideline chairs & yelled out, "One of you assholes get these Mexican whores off my floor!" That's crazy...

Beautiful area and nice campus. I have some friends that live in Morehead. When I was in school our entire Drama Dept made a trip there to see Ann B. Davis (Brady Bunch) in a play. Won't say how long ago that was. Great memory!

The last year Knight was at IU I went to a UK/IU game just to see him throw a fit. Made it to the last few minutes of the game and he had been calm as a mouse. Then when I had given up hope...he started kicking the scorers table. Yeah, that's why I came to the game... a Classic Bobby Knight moment.

I thought you said you were a Louisville fan? Shouldn't you be yelling go Cardinals! Of course the one thing I would love to see just once, is for some small conference team like Wagner or Manhattan or someone like that win it all, but that will never happen. As such, of all the teams playing I would like to see either Louisville or Wake Forest win it all, but I still think it will be Kentucky who ends up champion (damn they're only on a 23 game winning streak!).

My predictions for the final four are:

Kentucky over Arizona

Oklahoma over Florida

Kentucky over Oklahoma

My dark horse for the final four is Pittsburgh

Oh well, time to go play the pools! BTW the most money I ever made betting on March Madness ($5,000) was when Louisville beat Duke in the 1985 title game. Louisville, like Kentucky this year, was on a winning tear and I just knew that they would win it all. GO CARDINALS! :)

I am a BIG CARDS fan, went to about 6 games this year...But I am also one of those strange BIRDS (RED BIRD of course) that also is a UK fan, if they are not playing Louisville. Louisville wasn't even ranked when the season started, that is one thing that has made this season so much fun. And even though Louisville beat Kentucky this year (in fact their last loss 20+ games ago) I believe Kentucky will take it all. UK/Arizona game, if they meet, should be a great game.

Ahh...March Madness!

Hey Dude, I just love it! The best sporting event of the whole year and the most fun, but yet most agonizing to wager on, as one early round upset (which always happens) can really screw up the pool sheet.

Am I recalling correctly that Rick Pitino is the coach of Louisville and Tubby Smith is the coach of Kentucky? Wouldn't it be totally wild if the championship game was Kentucky vs Louisville? :o

I know Kentucky only lost 3 games this season to Louisville, Virginia (YEAH!!) but who was the other loss to? I know it wasn't an SEC team as they were undefeated in the SEC, including the tournament.

Please don't let axebahia (or whatever his handle is now) know I'm a Louisville fan. If I recall correctly, during the Adolph Rupp years at Kentucky, they refused to play Louisville because Kentucky was an all white team and Louisville had Afro-American players and Louisville was considered a second-rate university and as such, a second rate team. I would hate for him not to consider me a "racist client in search of Rebel flag draped "racist" escorts! :)

Yes Pitino is now the Louisville Coach (his second year).

A Louisville/Kentucky Final would be a Basketball lovers dream come true. UK's other loss was so soon in the season I can't remember who it was.

Your Kentucky Basketball history ain't too bad either.

Well, I can't stay up all night...I got a Hot Escort date tomorrow evening with someone I've been trying to Hookup with for months.
