If you are like me and were brought up with Original Oreo's, having those contest on who could lick the cream from the middle fastest, then dunk the cookie, you will be appalled at Nabiscos newest entry into the cookie market: The Candy Corn Oreo.... WTF ???? No way !!!!!

Cant they just leave things alone ? Change is NOT always a good thing... Eventhough there was NO market demand for this, and Candy Corn is considered the LEAST favorite Halloweeny candy, Nabsico is going for it anyway.

Personally, I know it will be a major FAIL.....

Thoughts ???

I like the chocolate filled and the double stuffed (LOL). Didn't care for the ones where the outside was vanilla and the inside chocolate but that was personal taste. These just look horrid, and suspect they'll be in Big Lots within a month.

you know how black and messy your mouth gets after eating a bunch of the originals?....

once went to my dentist after eating a lot of them as a joke....he laughed more than I did

Am I the only person who likes fruitcake?

You're probably one of the few who have had real fruitcake instead of the mass-produced bricks that get regifted for years.

I can actually imagine how this product came about. The plant that makes Nabisco's oil shipped a rail tanker full of the wrong oil and the creme started tasting like candy corn. Someone in marketing said "well, you know, we could ...." :p

Real fruitcake is amazing. I love it with some sweet butter of a morning during the holidays. I, however, DETEST oreos. They taste like burnt chocolate sandpaper with sweetened elmer's glue in between. No thanks.

That does sound visually and taste appealing.

Trader Joes has a pink peppermint creme Oreo-like cookie that I found last year around Christmas & I think it may have had pictures of candy canes on the package.

That was my 'gateway' to the mint Oreos (which have a green mint filling).

I love the mint ones, but Candy corn sounds vile. The actual candy is like chewing on Wax....

A few months ago I picked up a Businessweek in the airport and it had this article on the various flavors and shapes of Oreos around the world:

http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-05-03/theres-more-to-oreo-than-black-and-white

Some of them sound intriguing, but candy corn? I think I'll pass on that one!

Interesting article - thanks for sharing.

I ws aware that many 'American' brands are re-formulated for non-American palates.

A friend who worked at one of these companies told me it is all about shelf space. They don't care what the product is, as long as it can take up shelf space in the store and, therefore, leave less space for competitors. So if the whole shelf is just different types of oreo cookies, no matter how bad, they win.

This summer, I've been addicted to their creamsicle oreos. It's their yellow cookie, and the filling is half vanilla and half orange. They are yummy! I think I'll go have a couple right now.
