It feels like we've just come back at school after summer vacation. Now that you've found which home room you're in and you've got your seat in class, tell us what did YOU do over these last few weeks. And be nice.

For me, no big trips, just hanging around town. Fortunately there was the local distraction of Dore Alley Fair, and some decent beach days. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but that's what's coming to mind now.

Others have things to report?

I traveled back and forth across the US more than usual. A trip up North, which was amazng, and then to FTL several times and a trip to Chicago. Met two of the members from the forum in Chicago for breakfast and one member had an amazing summer. Perhaps he will share his travels experience with us. For me I had fun traveling. Hooked up with a dear friend up North. Very relaxing summer and met some new friends in Florida.

Looking forward to the Fall of the year. It is my favorite time to travel. The weather should be beautiful on the East coast then.

I left town on July 22 and headed to a small coastal town in the Pacific Northwest, to visit a friend who has no computer or connection to the Internet (even my cellphone doesn't work there), so I was totally unaware that the site was suddenly shut down on that same day. I spent my time reading real books and newspapers, and walking on the beach with my dog. I didn't miss the site at all while I was gone, and was pleased when I got back and found I didn't have anything to catch up on.

I like to view "every day" as a day of summer since I have been retired for a decade, but in keeping with the spirit of this thread, I spent some of those days in San Francisco in some play sessions with escorts;... visited the De Young Museum for the first time although it's been up for five years now. Skipped two major events: Dore Street Fair and Gay Pride events, parade included, and enjoyed tremendous views of the city on those clear days of my visit. [i live a mere 1 hour and 50 mins. via auto from "The-City-by-the-Bay" if traffic is on a solid move on the freeway that I prefer to take!!!]

If all goes as planned, a month to date will mark my second day being in Berlin, Germany.

It’s been a busy summer. I went to Europe—Copenhagen, Rome, Florence, Avignon at the start of the Theatre Festival…lots of fun with street performers everywhere, and Paris. I also had two long layovers in Iceland. The Blue Lagoon may be a tourist trap, but that water felt perfect after living in hotel rooms for so long…and the number of very nice butts and dicks I saw undressing and showering was an unexpected bonus.

While I was gone, DC had the storm. It blew the tops off two of my bigger trees. Only minor damage, which a good friend of mine took care of. The bill for those calls home weren’t pretty, but compared to some folks in the neighborhood I got off virtually unscathed.

I’ve also had an unexpected visitor for England, a man from Kew gardens who had heard about my yard. I spent a couple hours showing him the place. It turns out that one of the plants I couldn’t identify is deadly nightshade. No wonder the deer don’t touch it.

Now I’m relaxing while planning a short trip to Florida next month.

I hope the summer’s been good to everyone.
