I thought it was okay. some spots dragged on and at times I found it somewhat boring. I was the only guy in the theater consider it was 10:40 am. every one else was older women in their 50's I was basically in a room full of cougars. Alex Pettyfer was the most attractive of the guys imo

Just as I said. I dont get the Channing Tatum craze. He's a little to "doughy" for me.

I cannot concur on the face of Channing - yes it can look in photos too round or doughy, but ver the years I have grown to like every aspect of it -- especially the eyes and the pouty full lips. Of course, the rockin' bod he sports is great too and in this moving he really has worked the pecs and abs as well as the biceps. Then again, watching Matthew McConaughey's abs... wow.

I have now seen the movie Magic Mike. I give it a 7. Channing has a delightful ass, a very nice body, a sexy demeanor, and acts reasonably well. When they are not on stage, the movie is not all that interesting, but not bad.

take the strippers from swinging richards too see the movie let them watch Channing and see that a stripper is suppose to do more than stand there and shuffle their feet

 

Really, Channing has moves some strippers can only dream of. I assume he did all his own dancing.

yeah he did all of his own dancing in this as well as in the movie a few years ago Step up. he dances with his now wife in the film step up

From some angles he doesn't look good at all. He has one of those body types that looks spectacular at the right camera angle but from the wrong angle it's painfully clear he's two pounds away from looking fat. (Live appearances like talk shows and awards shows have a tendency to get the bad angle.)

 

As he gets older and adds those next couple of pounds he'll move from hunk to chunk, and I doubt his acting talent will sustain a career once he's no longer the pretty one.

 

For now, though: YUM!

Yes, awesome. I thought the storyline was well-plotted and realistic, the acting was quite good, the character arcs were believable for the most part (with some minor exceptions), and the balance of tone was very satisfying. The criticisms that I've read of the film usually center around the lack of stripping. This is not a movie about stripping—it is a movie about a stripper. The film could have been much darker, but I think that any film that involves the sex industry could be. If this is CT's story or a "lite" version of it, I think he chose to focus on some of the good and some of the bad, and it worked for me. I would have involved some of the other stripper characters a little more, but that's really the only flaw that didn't work for me.

This movie reminds me of "one night in heaven" with Christopher Atkins. A really cheesy 80's movie but i loved it. I think it played a role in bringing me out too.

I can't tell you how many times I paused that movie on video in order to jack off to it.

 

As far as Magic Mike goes, I thought it was a bit of a let down. I thought that they could have done a hell of a lot more with the supporting cast. And I thought that the story line left a lot to be desired. By about halfway through, I was wishing I was back at home watching porn. Would have shown more of what I really wanted to see...

See, this is where I disagree with the point of a movie like "Magic Mike." If you walk into it thinking you're going to be overwhelmed by sex, sex, sex—go get a porn. That's what porn is for—sex and little to none of that pesky, get-in-the-way plot. This is drama.

I think it did what it was suppose to do. I didn't go in expecting dick to be flopping around. I wouldn't have mind seeing more of a back story on the supporting cast.

It was a drama/some comedy tossed in. If I was running that club that DJ would have been fired for the drug stuff
