I'm heading to Phoenix later this month and was wondering if any of our illustrious brothers have any insights about the city - attractions, what to see and do, who to see and do, etc. I'll only be there a few days so it can't be too involved. Looking at the RB stable, I see several possibilities but would appreciate any input from you guys in the know. Thanks!

I would contact azdr0710...He certainly will give you the low down. He is very knowledgeable about Phoenix and the surrounding area. He might be traveling now, but if he is I believe he said he was only gone for about a week.

I was there two weeks ago, but with family, so I didn't check out anything gay. The Thurs. evening Artwalk in Old Scottsdale was enjoyable, and free, and we did the tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West: not free by a long shot, but definitely worthwhile for architecture buffs.

I lived in Phoenix a couple of years ago and agree Artwalk is a fun scene. Afterwards there are a couple of gay/gay-friendly places to go in Old Town: AZ/88 is a stylish restaurant and lounge that people go to for dinner or just drinks (sort of a scene, but fun overall), and BS West is more of a regular bar.

If you are there on the first Friday of the month, the Roosevelt Arts District has a First Fridays art walk. Also free I believe, and the art is a bit more progressive than the stuff in Scottsdale.

There is a small hub of gay businesses on 7th Avenue between Indian School Rd and Camelback. Overall things are pretty dispersed though, not a defined gay district.

In my experience the LA Fitness on Camelback is the gayest gym, at least when I was living there. A lot of gay guys live in that area of Phoenix.

I don't know much about the bar scene in Phoenix. I used to enjoy going to Charlie's for country western on Friday nights but I'm told it's not what it was.

For escorts you might want to check out men4rentnow in addition to RB. For some reason m4rn is used more in the west than RB.

Hope some of this stuff helps.
