Is your best sexual Experience Still To Come?

No pun intended there! Author John Irving has a new novel out- it's titled In One Person, and is reviewed in today's WSJ. In the review, the reviewer mentions that many of the topics in the book, which revolves around a man nearing 70 recounting his life experiences with gay and bisexual ...and transgendered...activities, surviving the AIDS epidemic, and so on.

 

But, the reviewer takes exception to the quote attributed to an 18 year old stating: "It was absolutely wonderful. I don't imagine I'll ever have a sexual experience exactly like it again." The reviewer thinks it is doubtful that any

18 year old would make such a statement.

 

So, what do you think? Was your best sexual experience at the age of 18? If not, what age was it when you had the best sex? Or, is it still ahead of you? I think we all hope that it is still ahead of us. But sometimes, for myself, I seriously doubt it!

Excellent question Lucky. I think some of the younger members around here will disagree with me, but as an AARP member, I am having better sexual experiences now than I ever did when I was younger. I can't know for certain why that is exactly, except to say that off the top of my head, I think that I am less intimidated by the whole process. I am more relaxed, more self confident, and I know that if things don't go right, then it isn't the end of the world.

 

I think this is going to be a very lively thread. I am curious as to what others have to say.

For me, My best sexual experiences have been the Older I get. I am more comfortable with myself, my body and my performance, and I think the "meaning: of the experience has changed over time and maturity.

 

However eventhough I have had some great anonymous Sexual experiences during my single years, the Ultimate ones have been with my partner of 22 yrs before his sudden passing almost 11 yrs ago. The connection you form with that person, the ease of the act and the fulfillment you get from giving and getting Love cant be described or rivaled. It takes the sex to a different level. Discovering sex with another at age 14 was undeniably a peak. However, as others have stated or described, later can be better. We seem to be so much more in "touch" with our bodies and our minds, later. A personal connection is a MUST for me. Anonymous sex leaves at least 50% in the lurch.

Like Doit, for me, I started late and am in the learning process. Therefore, almost by definition, my best experience (in both meanings of the word) is ahead of me. I will add this. I started to tag on doit's post, but realized this one suits me better. In the past couple of months I've come to some conclusions about sex in general and the sex I've had. It was prompted by an amateur video on one of the porn sites—it's about 90 minutes long and shows two guys who are a couple together doing it nine ways to Sunday. Some of the comments bitch about the pacing and length of the video, calling it boring and slow—yet the vast majority of posters talk about how the two men are obviously in love and the incredible chemistry this adds to the whole experience.
