I actually saw a notice about this ten days ago and managed to turn off the function. I just checked it when I saw your notice, max, and it is still turned off.

I don't know if clearing all web history/purging cache etc, clears that info—but that's what I do every time with the browser I use for escort email. The main browser I use has unpurged history.

It appears to be an opt-in for those with existing accounts; it simply asked if I want to turn on web history. I couldn't find anything to clear.

I didn't opt in. It did it on its own, and I've had that account for several years now.

Many browsers, not just google maintain your history, "as a convenience"... however it is a pain when you have friends visit and want to use your computer. I find that I end up deleting "history" every day., although I suspect that it is still kept somewhere in yahoo, google and other companies history on my visits to every site I ever visit. Nothing is private anymore, and every company like google is trying harder and harder to glean information to sell to companies who want to sell something or are after identity theft type of stuff... sad day for us all.
