In casual conversation today I said something to the effect of "I wouldnt want to be you today" to a colleague who was having some difficulty. In reality, we are really quite different and I thought about which change I would make, even temporarily, if I could make one change, just to get a different viewpoint. So which would you change:

 

Your sex

Your race

Your sexual preference

Your political ideology

Tough question. I might change my race/ethnicity. Perhaps then when out dancing I wouldn't stick out doing Riverdance.

When you added, "even if temporarily" it put a new perspective on the question for me.

Temporarily, I would opt to change my race first, and then my sex. I don't think I want to change them permanently, but I would like to be able to experience life as an Asian or an African or an Asian-American or an African-American and as a woman. Why? The way others react to us, treat us, expect things of us is so grounded in our race, and in our gender that I am curious about how I would be treated and perceived in a different body. Being comfortable in our skins is admirable and leads to confidence, but it can also lead to complacencyand blind spots in dealing with others.

I would never want to change any part of my identity permanently, but I would like to be a woman temporarily just to see what it feels like to have a sexual climax without cumming. (Is it like the climaxes I had when I was ten years old?)

After the great news I received today, I wouldn't change a damn thing even briefly. Imagine if you could not change back. You'd have to spend all your time getting fucked in a frat house!!! OK, maybe I'd try being a slutty woman briefly--experience is everything

For me I WOULD NOT change any of the above regardless of some of the difficulties I've faced in my life up to this point!
