I had an interesting question posed to me. I wanted to pass it along to the forum and see what other people say.

 

In essence, you're walking along the street and you find a genie in a lamp! What luck! The genie allows you ONE wish! Yes...downsizing unfortunately has impacted even the genie! One other small condition is that you can wish for ANYTHING but it has to be for somebody else other than you.

 

What would you wish for?

Just off the top of my head I thought about the mother whose young daughter is one of the missing on the recent cruise ship disaster. Wish for her daughter to be found alive and well.

After careful consideration of all the options, and weighing the pros and cons of those options, I have chosen "unlimited wealth" meaning money....

 

Alot of the options I've considered were contigent on money, and although they say money cant buy happiness , it can alleviate alot of the pressures of todays living, including Health Ccare. And it would allow that person to help others as well if they so choose. So, money it is....

Interesting question gc. I've been pondering it for hours. What would I wish for my partner to make him happy (and for those who know my story, notice my upgrade in title). But on the way home from his house, where I was taking care of him through a nasty GI bug which is going around town, to take care of my wife who is going through the same thing, I realized what I would actually wish for. My wish would be for my wife: that she could find a good, decent man, who would love her, treat her well, and give her the respect, dignity, and happiness she so richly deserves. I owe much to her for how she has handled my whole coming out. My partner will be fine (in spite of being stuck with me). But I have long said the happiest day of my life would be to dance at my wife's second marriage. And so my wish would be for her.

I would wish for Obama to have the insight and resources to resolve the economic crisis with restoration of a strong middle class and a much more equitable redistribution of America's wealth. Wait....no.....I would wish that a really hung devastastingly handsome and remarkably intelligent young man would fall head over heels with me. That might sound like a wish for me but it is really for him. Wait...no....maybe the economic thing. Ah who the hell knows. This morning I found myself wishing that I had gotten to the Bagel Shop before they ran out of poppy bagels.

Great question..Of course money is the first thing that comes to mind, but since the condition of the original OP was it had to be for someone else, then the question becomes who would benefit most from that. I always pray for others well being before mine...So many things to wish for, but I think in the end I wish that someone finds a cure for aids...While a lot of money has been thrown at this problem, I think now it is more a matter of luck, and just stumbling upon something that they have missed in the past. For all those that have gone before, I wish this most of all.

Maybe the best thing for me to wish for would be for someone to come up with warp drive so that we could find another planet to inhabit where we could start over and hopefully not screw it up this time.
