I had a longtime partner too, and often enjoyed going shopping and buying him things, But this is totally NOT the same thing as the OP described. Giving to someone in and of itself and having your "gestures" received is not "being taken advantage of", since at some point you will receive something in return. If one is engaging in some sort of Fantasy scene during sex, that is different than having a constant and ongoing psychological "NEED" that drives your behavior. Its seems that the OP's preferences are part of his Nature and physiology, and cant be controlled.
