For those of us still employed, or for those of us lucky enough to be gainfully Retired, T'is the season when there seems to be loads of those tins of Danish butter cookie assortments around for munching....

Seems to be an office staple, and the go to hostess gift... You can NEVER eat just onen either. Bite size nuggets from Heaven somehow say CHRISTMAS...

Which is your Favorite ????

Mine is the pretzel twist with the granular sugar on top, seconded only by the coconut flavored round one.... Which satisifes your sweet tooth ???

Have to agree that these are great cookies in a nice (usable later for all kinds of things) tin.

I too like the pretzel shaped ones with the extra sugar, but also like the plain round ones for the buttery taste. UNFORTUNATELY I have tio avoid them now as they seem to do a job on whatever progress I make on a diet.

Oh I do love butter cookies....actually I love any kind of cookies, one of my (many) fattening addictions. Yes I do love the pretzel twist Danish butter cookies very much. I consider myself fortunate in that one of my nieces makes a boat load of different Christmas cookies every year and I am a lucky recipient of them. Butter cookies rank up there as does buckeyes (very appropriate as I am from Ohio) and pecan tassies. I usually save those three types for the last when devouring holiday cookies.

My mother called them thimble cookies and used strawberry jam and oowdered white sugar. As for the butter cookies. I am responsible for the relative stability of the economy of Denmark. The ones with the granulated sugar are the most addicting.

The talk of butter cookies reminds me of a time when I was driving to Florida. We had stopped at a rest area and bought a tin of these cookies for the trip. We ate them while driving, all the way south. We never stopped to eat, because we were full of cookies! That tin saved us time and money! LOL

One tin got you to Florida. Where did you start? Georgia? I could eat a tin of those going through the Holland Tunnel at rush hour.

I don't love cookies. I do like them, at times, though. And my go-to cookie in that tin is the coconut flavored one.

My only true weakness for sweets is chocolate milkshakes. I've gotten addicted to them since my brain surgery. For a week or so, they were about all I could stomach. And now I can't get off of them.

Happy Holidays.

Thanks. I'm coming along really well, except for the continued indulgences. I will get on top of that.

I LOVE the Danish butter cookies. Your faves are also my faves. I'm surprised, though, that you have not located cock-and-ball shaped sugar-sprinkled butter cookies. Do you know how to bake? You might be able to fill a niche.
