HELLO!

I know that there were a number of people who attended the Palm Springs event earlier this year and I was wondering about some of the hotels that people stayed at and if there would be any recommendations. Also, I would appreciate any input from residents of PS as to what they know as well and have heard from the locals.

Any input would be great and much appreciated!

This spring a few of us stayed at Terrazzo (http://terrazzo-ps.com/). It was a nice, low-key place. Not as racy as Helios, but not too uppity either. A nice facility and well-run. Non-descript, which may or may not appeal depending on what you're looking for.

A number of years ago I also stayed at El Mirasol Villas in Warm Sands (http://www.elmirasol.com/). I liked that place too, and the staff was very friendly. At the time Warm Sands was very cruisy at night, though I'm not sure it is now.

So depends what you're looking for. Terrazzo and El Mirasol are nice mid-range gay focused small resorts.

I was intrigued with the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs but it was all booked up when we had the Forum gathering this spring. It looked like it was stylish and cool, could be fun.

I guess it all depends on what kind of noise you experienced--~! Or, on the other hand if the noisy neighbors were friendly or unfriendly. I once stayed at a place where there was some interesting noise going on next door, when I went out in the hall, I found that the the door to the adjacent room was partially open so I went in to see what was going on.... well, to make a long story short, I stayed and contributed to the noisy fun.

Sounds like a night at a Warm Sands resort. Per Steven's comment, depends who you are going with and what you are looking for. The gay resorts get into your business, which can be fun and social if that's what you want, but not every client would feel comfortable with that.

I stayed at this Tiki-themed place in downtown PS in 2006.

It was ideally located near downtown PS and it was inexpensive. While it was not a gay resort (families stayed there), I hosted a fun gathering of 7 or so guys arranged on the Internet with no problem.
