coverboy vote cheating

Is there any way to track coverbot votes? Because I just watched Abrahm/Seattle's vote climb nearly 100 votes in a span of 5 minutes. Each time I hit reload it would climb around 5 votes. Hes got 157 votes now, and the polls have only been open for a few days. Hmm.

Since the Coverboy of the month" is suppossed to be elected, it carries with it important economic advantages to those selected. It in effect is a "king Maker" and it says that the "chosen" boi is hotter than the rest. As such, it is important to all, especially the escorts that don't resort to cheating, that it be fair and above board, or NOT AT ALL.

 

I'm no computor or software wizz (nor much of a wizz at all for that matter But it seems to me that Daddy could figure out a way to make this voting fair and above board or NOT HAVE IT AT ALL.

The software used for voting is provided by a 3rd party service. They invalidate multiple votes from the same IP address.

 

Someone REALLY determined to cheat still can, but it takes quite a bit of effort.

 

The service actually has one level higher we could go, security-wise, but when HooBoy tried it a lot of people complained that they couldn't vote AT ALL.

 

As it happens, the guy in the lead probably deserves to win. He IS mighty pretty. He's not who I voted for, but it was close. ;-)

I watch the vote climb very quickly and then suddenly stop. Im afraid Ill have to disagree with you. The software doesnt stop anybody from doing that. I just tested it myself and voted twice for somebody (wont say who), and it counted it. Whatever, not a big deal, but the vote really means nothing, as it can be fixed easily.

Yes, HooBoy nullified the voting this morning (as explained on the voting page) because the software wasn't properly checking for duplicates.

 

It has been restarted. Be sure to read the caveat about voting twice: you could get your favorite escort disqualified.

It's the same thing with all of these 'contests'. There are going to be unsavories, who will, in effect, rig the votes.

Why is it necessary to have a coverboy of the month vote anyways... yeah it's nice to have someone new to look at everyday, but what is the benefit of a monthly 'miss thing'??

Keep doing the daily thing, but lose the vote aspect of it.

I appreciate all the work Hooboy puts into the Coverboy of the Day, but, like Matt, I don't see much point in the contest myself. After all, this is an escort 'review' site. In my mind, an escort's photographic appeal is one of the least important attributes...

 

So put my 'vote' in with the 'keep the Coverboy, dump the vote' gang!

First, I want to thank the person who divulged the cheating.

 

I think it an error on my part and I apologize.

 

The fix is in. I tested it and I was not able to vote more than once. Certainly there are people who can figure out how to circumvent the software, but I have a log of all IP addresses.

 

I think most people here realize this is just time killer. There is no crown, no sash and no free Pepsi.

 

Cheaters will be reluctantly expelled. If someone tries to do multiple votes on a "rival escort", I have a system to weed that out. But god forbid there would be a "rival escort". That sounds like something that guy Kalifornia would conjure up; certainly not anyone with integrity.

Does it take one's vote automatically? Because whenever I vote, the #s don't seem to change at all (not even once). Ever. Maybe the vote gets counted and reflected later on?

Well, I may be wrong, and it may be just "time filler", but common sense tells me that it probably has a positive effect on traffic on this site, which translates into advertising revenue. Whatever. I was just trying in a round about way to say that I'll tolerate nearly any sane device on this site which helps keep it free. :-)

i dont see what big deel is - this guy tell the escort come to florida i have watch for you, i have all this money for you, then escort get there - no watch, money but he has to be locked into room with fat guy all weekend, fat guy gets angry and meen, then escort leeves.
