My Yahoo account was similarly hijacked a few months ago. I wiped out my contacts list and changed my password. That seemed to do the trick.

I simply don't have a oontacts list anymore. I save one e-mail from each person I want to keep up with. It's a pain, but better than being pirated like that.

Yes~ I also got two of these... also did not reply or respond. Spyware at work advertising for some crap using other peoples addresses and contacts list to advertise some thing or another~

To love without personal gain can be the most significant expression of self acceptance and giving human gift possible given our human nature. Strive for the Will to Love~

Love is not some place you come from. It's something you are through the acceptance of Life and living it and giving back to those learning how.

Desire is easy to suffice and satiate~ Need is the more important then satisfaction. Strive to understand how desires can suffice need and strive for that~ What you need will bring you more then what you desire unless your desires suffice your needs~

If humankind can not understand and utilize technology to necessary needs provision, what is the point of technology?

A flower is just a flower until it comes into the reality of another thing where it is then consumed, cherished or simply ignored to be what it is~

All things are like this~ and in all forms accepted as one purpose or another according to the understanding of the two.

You can't retire from who you truly are~

Life is the profound influence not any particular person or words~. .. but becoming aware of the profound nature of life is the blessing that we can acquire and pass along.

We are plagued by the distraction of intellect and the arrogant thinking that we are above Life beyond the Human experience.

Human truth is situational and in the scopes of human perception, we are limited and evolving.

Truth in itself is complete and always the real situation, in spite of how we, as humans, might like to perceive it or contrive it.

Life and Love are not about us but, rather, perhaps, accepting it and living it and sharing it back~

Love for your own sake and/or enterprise is not greater or replacement for the value of Beauty felt and given back~

Human beings make the mistake of placing judgements of what is right or wrong, good or evil. In the end there is only consequence~

Life exists beyond the human experience~

Sometime overnight I got 2 odd emails in my google account, the similarities were:

both from escorts known to me, and are in my contacts

both use yahoo accounts

both messages had been sent to a number of addresses, which could be viewed by me

both had nothing more than a URL in the body of the the message

although I didn't click on them (I'm not THAT stupid!), googling on the URL indicated that both were for seemingly random but legitimate Spanish language websites.

Anybody else get something similar.

I've already emailed both guys, and suspect that their yahoo accounts may have been hacked, since I don't have any other odd behavior I can see on my gmail account, which is otherwise acting normally.

I get these often and they seem to all be people from this site.

Sadly, once your address is "out there" it will be used forever. There are probably a ton of people out there who are sick and tired of receiving email "from" Rick Munroe, except that you never sent any of them.

Probably half of the people reading this forum are infected with an address book collecting trojan and don't know it. That's not casting accusations, it's just recognizing typical statistics.

If that sounds like a PSA for STD prevention, it's the same principle. Practice safe HEX, people. You're only as clean as the people you trade email with.

No, I'm pretty sure nobody has ever received one from me. I've never opened suspicious emails or opened attachments. But thanks for not casting any aspersions! :)

The point is you don't HAVE to do anything. If your address is in someone else's address book and *that* gets shared to the spam universe, it's out there.

Since the default on most mail systems is to automatically add everyone you're in contact with to the address book, you're probably in quite a few.
