I Was So Naive

I knew I liked looking at bodybuilders and really handsome male stars long before I was a teenager. I have a memory-- I don't know whether it is an actual memory or something I somehow made up years later-- but I was about 5 or 6 years old-- it was the year before I started 1st grade. I was in kindergarten. I was in the bathroom. Another boy from my class walked in-- and I thought to myself-- he's cute. Then I remember immediately thinking, 'Boys don't think other boys are cute'. In spite of that internal self censure-- I still enjoyed looking at bodybuilders. Anyone remember the scene from the movie Lil Abner after the men of Dogpatch drink Mammy Yokum's potion.

However a hunk I liked in my early days-- more the reruns in the late 60's to the early 70's rather than the initial run-- was Lee Majors as Heath Barkley. Was an episode of the Big Valley ever complete without Heath being captured and having his shirt ripped off?

Although this picture is from The Fall Guy a few years later and not The Big Valley-- Mr. Majors still looks great.

Guest Rich.
Doesn't 'wee' mean tiny? If it does, I doubt that adjective can be referred to any of Rick or Derek's major body parts!!

Yup. Wee does mean tiny. In Scotland. As in dram. OK. Lifting Munroe's kilt. Mmmhhh. Hey Gman, may I borrow your microscope? :p

Ah, yes...that brings me back to my young "starving artist" days just after college, taking any gig I could...and there I was, the musical director for a typically bad summer youth theatre production of Li'l Abner. The director was terrible - though he did have theatre training, his "day job" was being one of the sports coaches at a nearby high school. And he directed like a football coach, lol. Awful.

But the one amazing thing he did was to recruit a number of the high school football jocks to be the "transformed" men for that scene in the show. And oh my, they were something to look at, lol. And since I wasn't out to anyone in this company (the director was also, I suspect, rather homophobic, and the cast was all kids/teens, so I just kept my private life to myself, lol), it was a hard task to try not to look at those studs TOO much, lol.

Kent McCord from "Adam-12"

YES!!

I never remembered watching Adam-12 when I was a kid, but it's in reruns now on an independent cable network, so I've been seeing a lot of Mr. McCord lately. Yum!

(BTW - this station runs Adam-12 back-to-back with Dragnet - it's funny how the two shows are really EXACTLY the same, lol.)

Lil Abner

If I had known what being gay was when I was 4 or 5, then I would have understood my attraction for this scene a lot sooner.

I can only find this picture on Google or at Brian's Drive In Site . I tried posting it, I suspect it may be too large because I can't get it to show up. All that appears is a little blue box with a question mark. I will have to settle for posting the link instead. (I wonder if a Moderator can help me post the picture, or maybe someone better than I am at searching can find an alternate source for the picture).

I was 11, but i still remember that!

Right on, I remember Mark Spitz as if it was yesterday. Those speedos, which he wore with such confidence, mesmerized me. I was a chubby kid at the time. Before I knew what 'gay' was, I was aroused by pictures of Greek and Roman statues. But my first real crush was Charlton Hestor in 'Ben-Hur' ... and I will probably burn in hell because of it :)

When I hit puberty, my parents decided it was time for me to own an athletic supporter to wear with my swim trunks, etc. The jockstrap came in a cardboard package with a picture of a model on the front, wearing (nothing but) the product. And even though I was rather confused about my sexuality then, I knew I was attracted to the guy on the package - so I made sure to keep it. I'm pretty sure this was right around the time that I first started having orgasms, because I do remember jacking off looking at the model's picture.

Thanks so much for that memory. You stirred up mine: when I was a kid in the 70's, Time Magazine used to run ads for Jockey shorts with pix of lots of different guys (including Jim Palmer) in their underwear. I used to study those photos, comparing bulges and admiring treasure trails, for hours. I never had much doubt that I was gay, but those ads sealed the deal. To this day, I will ask an escort to hang around a while in his jockeys, then let me have the pleasure of peeling them off. LOL

No question....it was Tab Hunter. I can still remember seeing him in one of the physique magazines. To this day he is still a fantasy! Only Rob Lowe has even come close to the effect that Tab had - and has- on me.

Speaking of Olympics hotties, Bruce Jenner was something else in the '70s.

There was no one who parted his hair down the middle as well as BJ

oh wow I remember those jim palmer pictures, and a blonde guy named Schroder? I think he was a baseball player or something. my parents never understood why I had jim palmer undies ad pics, lol. I don't even remember what flimsy excuse I gave them.

Are you thinking of actor Rick(y) Schroder?

Sigh. I had more than a few wet dreams over both Shaun Cassidy and Greg Evigan (any of you remember BJ and the Bear)?
