Now I feel compelled to lighten the mood so let's try this question...

what's your favorite alcoholic beverage of choice?

gc

To me, it depends on the situation....I like wine when accompanying food, etc...I like beer for a refresing drink and I like vodka ,etc when I need to get hammered....

Wine with continental food

Margaritas on the rocks with Mexican food

Tanqueray on the rocks with TWO olives when I’m drinking seriously

Flavored Vodka on the rocks when I’m sitting on the terrace overlooking Banderas Bay in Puerto Vallarta. This is particularly splendid when Steven Kesslar is sitting next to me.

Bison grass vodka w/ rocks on the side.

Syrah's w/ dinner or Mendoza Melbec Argentina or La Concepcion Cepas de Altura from Bolivia, Piedmonts taste good and have good scents, There are some great unfiltered Sake's.

Before dinner it would be a vodka martini with two olives, with dinner a dry white wine, more often than not a sauvignon blanc. When clubing or bar hoping a couple of beers (max) and then something like Perrier. With brunch a bloody mary.

Cabernet Sauvignon right off the Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley, Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Barbara County, Red Zinfandel from Lodi, Amador County, or Paso Robles. Any of which followed by a delicious Port served with Dark Chocolate.

My usual is beer (of no particular variety). If you give it to me, I'll probably drink it.

I don't usually drink a lot of wine, but if someone has uncorked a bottle I'll have a snort.

I enjoy an occasional vodka or gin cocktail, but generally nothing that requires a mixologist behind the bar. If I've had a particularly good (or particularly bad) day, though, the tipple of choice is a good single malt sipping scotch. Currently working my way, slowly and gratefully, through a MacAllan 24. It's a heckuva nice treat!

Hey Friends,

For me, I love white vermouth on the rocks before a meal, French and Italian wines (red and or white depeneding on the food, often both), port which fine cheeses before dessert, some dessert wines from Germany and Canada are really nice in small quantities, drambuie or Grand Marinier for after dinner ... but for serious drinking I love Crown Royal on the Rocks .... and then sme tripple sex (hahahahaha, get it?)

All this keeps me

happy

Hey SF WestC: You ever have the old midwestern tradition of extra spicy Bloody Mary with beer chaser? it's such a wonderful blend of sweet and salty adult beverage orgasmic congruency~ lick the celery stick just to prove the point of your appetite~ Sooooo sexy~ If you have not tried it.. give it a try?

Over the years (damn I'm only 23, shhhhhhhhhh!) my drink preference has evolved from beer to vodka and now it's wine.

Wine is the healthiest and most trouble free. And most people are surprised that it can give them a buzz LOL. However, more recently I been turned on to Champagne but the only drawback with that is I'm compelled to drink the whole bottle in 1 sitting since you can't re-cork it.

Hard liquor has too high of an alcohol content to it...However, there is a very good Gin called New Amsterdam gin that is very light, gives you a mild buzz and no hangover...

Having grown up in Milwaukee, I saw many varieties of this... I did not know bloody mary's came without beer chasers until I moved away. Here's a bit of reading on the matter~ Note the massive slice of Bacon on the top~ Mmmmmm~

Tyger, I have not experienced the old midwest bloody mary/beer combination, might be something that I can experience with you when we gather in Chicago.

I don't particularly like alcoholic beverages, but have swayed and drunk some divine Italian wine during my most recent travel to Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast last summer. The white wine did appeal while partaking in those divine Tuscan meals. From that time onward, I haven't had any wine!

When I'm in Brazil, I love their native drink (cocktail) caipirinhas. It's so sooooooothing and is as "stimulating as the men!!" -:)

Axiom, don't u just love the Amalfi Coast. I lived in Ital for three years many years ago - and it was my favorite place to go for a gettaway. Usually stayed in Positano and once in a while on the other coast at Sorrento. Amalfi is where I learned to enjoy wine, a lot. The sky is so blue and the water so fine. Ahhh, thanks for reminding me....

Mmmmmm~ Cachaca`! Made from sugar cane. Like rum but without the molasses. Did you also try the Caipifrutas Cachaca beverages there? So refreshing and as you say... "Sooooothing", just like the men there.
