All I can say is "WOW! What a weekend!"...

Starting with the meet & greet at Spurline for Showtunes (which began the "turning of the heads" EVERYWHERE we went, dinner at Trio, The Follies, & Oliver's pool party (GREAT vibe, & he's certainly BEYOND gracious as a host!).

The Barracks!!!!! (I'll let someone else post about that!) & even a little rain at diner couldn't dampen the sense of community & brotherhood that I felt with my fellow escorts & their OUTSTANDING choices as companions.

As for the sailor outfit... that was a gem when I found it at the local leather shop here and I'm surprised that I didn't see it the day before when touring the racks like a kid in a candy store. Now, if our Naval officers around the globe could wear leather uniforms! Now the trick will be putting these items into an already stuffed luggage bag and then sending it in for some fine tuning, tightening in certain regions and getting it fit just for my body type. Now the question is what to wear next year for our outings!

 

Bravo to everyone who attended and here's to an even bigger party next year. Hell, with all who came this time, we may need to get a larger venue as the list grows and grows each year from what I've been told by those who have attended for a number of years.

I didn't get to the dinner or the Follies, but I did go to Oliver's legendary "pool event." This is becoming a prelude to the famous White Party, without the sex and drugs (I think). There were several new attendees, and well as most of the regulars (we really missed you, jackhammer!). I enjoyed discussing weighty topics with some of the older gentlemen, while the charming youths gamboled entertainingly in the pool. Lucky's luminous presence presided over affairs, Epigonos made sure the troops were fed, and Oliver rivaled Perle Mesta (but don't call him "Madam") in providing the social oil that keeps things running smoothly in Escortland. Only the weather failed to behave, after taunting us for two weeks beforehand with sunny skies and high temperatures. Even so, it was probably the best Hooville Weekend ever.

Ace, your shoutouts of each escort is spot-on. I also want to add to the list Steven Kesslar, who's photos I've been ogling since his days in Portland so I was so excited when he introduced himself at the first night at Trio. He's a handsome and smart guy, with eyes to die for. I mean, mesmerizing. I really enjoyed talking with him at length at the pool party. And then of course there is Ace yourself, who was the organizing force behind the seriously fun and hot side events at Gear leather store, and (I believe) the Barracks. I got my very first pair of leather pants at Gear, expertly assessed by Ace. And the Barracks event was off the hook - it deserves a thread all it's own. Ace was fantastic at organizing these things, making us feel welcome, and encouraging us to push our limits a bit and have a great time. He definitely has a talent for this.

 

Romann's reflections on the social and friendship aspect of the weekend is also spot-on. Clients and escorts alike, this was a group of people I'd really enjoy continuing to get to know. I think as we all get older we get more selective with who we want to socialize with and spend our time with, and these are the kinds of people I really enjoy spending time with.

 

Charlie's description of the pool party gets right to the point but manages to cover it all and convey what it was like. It was a very congenial event, totally relaxed with just enough titillation (a pool full of hot men in skimpy swimsuits playing volleyball... hoo yah!) but all within the realm of good fun and everybody's comfort level. The hosts did a fantastic job in all respects.

 

This was the first Palm Springs gathering I've been to, and I'll admit I was hesitant at first to go solo. But if there are other people who might have contemplated coming but thought they needed to bring a date, next time I'd encourage you to just come as you are. Though I was stag, it was never a problem and guys consistently made efforts to include me in the events. In particular, Lee and the boys (Ryaan and Dane) staying at Terrazzo with me allowed me to tag along on a number of outings and I felt totally welcome and included. And Ace and JJ likewise and then some.

 

I was also very excited to meet Daddy for the first time. Lee and the boys also included Daddy in the outings I went along with, and Daddy never failed to keep us entertained and informed about all range of things and show genuine care and concern for everyone's well-being.

 

Lastly, so many great clients. Totally interesting and sexy men, we could prepare a whole list like Ace has done with the escorts but then we're discreet here right? But especially for me here for the first time it was great matching a face and personality to a screen name and getting to know these guys and their stories.

 

At some contemplative moment I was thinking about the whole thing and how it made me think of those gatherings they have up at the Bohemian Grove at the Russian River. The Bohemian thing is an annual thing that people look forward to each year, there is an agreement of privacy for those in attendance, it's all men, and and there is sex (though they'll never admit it!). Of course our group is WAY more fun than the stuffy Bohemians. But as an annual event, it's shows how something like this could keep going and endure. Oliver, did you know this was what you were signing up for? ;-)

I just wanted to add that the owners of Helios have offered to be our host hotel next year! (They had a private group book them for this weekend & then cancel at the last minute. It's the ONLY place I stay when in Palm Springs & a few of the guys expressed interest in it (as well as took a tour on Sat night).

I know it's a year ahead, but can you IMAGINE all of us at one hotel, doing what we do?!

I am typing this from the living room of your host with the most Oliver...because American Airlines cancelled my flight today! So it is just me and the schnauser ;-)

 

I had a wonderful weekend and it was nice to see all the attendees, both escort and non-escort, enjoy themselves and socialise and just...let loose and have fun! This may end up being a little long but I think I really need to write this and get it out.

First of all thank you so very much for such an amazing weekend.

I too want to express how grateful I am for the time we had together.

 

Some of you may or may not know but the vary last place I wanted to be this weekend was in Palm Springs at this event.

I had lots of apprehension and insecurity around meeting new people and seeing friends.

I just did not have the gumption nor the energy to face right now.

 

Just since last year I found out my father and step mother passed away and my grandmother died.

Sally a dog from my dog pack was put down recently.

I moved twice this year.

I have been all over the world (literally)

I was tired.

 

So its not surprising on many occasions I was very disenchanted about being an escort altogether.

I had reentered this world a few years ago with expectations that were many times exceeded and sometimes I get thrown a curve ball.

I know all this is a part of life on the terms set by life itself.

Very recently I was beginning to feel like I was becoming jaded and losing my spirit.

 

This weekend changed all that for me. I could not be happier about the outcome.

From the day we arrived till Monday afternoon when we left I had the time of my life.

 

Nothing could be so affirming to me than to check in with so many of you.

To meet the new gents that came this year from all over the place.

At the dinners , the bars, the show and the casino.

Every provider there was inspiring to me on so many levels.

The men that brought us together made it all happen and equally gave 110% to a great time.

I have to say it just flowed. Again AMAZING

 

I really needed to feel apart of something special this weekend.

If you don’t know this, at least for me, believe it or not this profession can be very isolating at times.

If you travel a great deal and see the four walls of a hotel room in a different city every week

We find like minded people that share ideas and see different sides to all things especially about loving men and the providers that offer that to so many.

 

I am so grateful for each one of you to have come with an open mind and a fun and caring sense of humor.

It was such an amazing weekend. Where to begin..... First of all bear with me in regards to the extent of this email. I am in the midst of writing one of the more important college papers of my life, so this message may be shorter than I'd like and does not fully articulate just how much this past weekend has meant to me. Oliver did his usual outstanding job and assumed even more responsibility than normal this year. Jason Carter was as always the charming, the efficient, and the effervescent right hand man. It is always a pleasure schmoozing with Daddy even though he totally ignores me when I tell him how to run his site. To all the clients and escorts in attendance – it was pure joy spending time with you.

Still basking in the glow of a spectaculer weekend! First and foremost a huge bouquet of thanks to Oliver for hosting and arranging this event. Also a big thanks to Jason for arranging the Sunday evening dinner and for helping Oliver gather all the items that went into making the pool event a success.

My personal Thoughts ... Well the ones Im willing to make semi public

 

Ok so I really needed a couple of days to collect my thoughts about this amazing experience. This MC has meant so much to me over the past 18 months its hard to imagine that the men here individually could ultimately have meant that much more but they do... escort and client alike. I fear to even go down this road individually for fear of forgetting anyone. The experience in Palm Springs for me was so incredible I cannot even tell myself where to begin.

 

For a man like myself who has lived so closeted a life for so long I first thought that meeting an escort to have sex or even just touch another man was a huge step. Like leaping the grand canyon. For many of you who have been out all your lives you may not get this or even understand why I would have fet this way but I know many of you (Oliver, Epigonos, PK, TB, Leigh... the list goes on) I know you do. I was scared and fearful and excited and I thought it would be the be all and end all of my journey just to have that experience. What a fool I was... How could I have known then that by cracking open that door just a smidge a whole new me would come tumbling out. Ive often credited Romann for being my guide to that discovery and he was and so much more... and PS just proves how much he continues to be that for me as this journey continues and how many more people play a role in my life today than ever before.

 

So I came out and started venturing evenings in the NYC gay scene... nights out with Cooper and the boys... hell even learning how to manhunt But nothing could have really prepared me for the experience that was the hooville weekend. This wasn't a sexual exploration (well ok but not only a sexual exploration) This was a feeling of belonging... a feeling of community. We talked alot before this, calling the get together a gather of gentleman... Bullshit!!!! This was more a band of brothers than I have ever felt in my admittedly rather facade ridden life. The men at this event were caring, sharing and built of common bonds and common understandings. Sure we all came from different places and ages and backgrounds, having different tastes and interests and fetishes.. But for those few days the differences were put aside and the commonality... the joy we all got, clients and escorts alike, from sharing that portion of our lives that we all have in common. Dont get me wrong... This crew has personalities larger than life... all of which could clash (and do as we have all seen here on the forum) but the overall feeling of this event was for our shared love of our "hobby" (Sorry Epigonos but I liked this term you used better than some of the others LOL) or profession for those working at the event.

 

So before I say my specific thanks to all those involved I just needed to say how much it meant to a newer guy like me to be able to feel to free to be amongst men of like mind and understanding. To spend those days truly "out" and enjoying the freedom that came with living without the facades and covers that have been a mainstay of my life for so long. But anyway enough of this....
