Brooklyns own Junior's..... Was/Is and always will be the Best Cheesecake on the Planet! Even IF it is Sold on HSN! LOL

Of course many now are into the "Bastardization" of Cheesecake just to make it more Marketable BUT!

Not to sound egotistical, but I've got to say mine, via a guy at the gym. I like it because it's more like a cheesecake mouse, not as heavy as the original NY style.

You mean, you get him to shoot some cream in a cup and you use that to make the cake?

Is it in the shape of a mouse or it just tastes like one? :p

I love near end of the year when they serve their Pumpkin Cheesecake, which means an extra dose of Insulin but it is work it. And I do like their coconut creme!

The best cheesecake I've had recently (only because I haven't been to NYC recently) was in a little restaurant in Akron, Ohio. Apparently there's a local bakery that prides themselves on "authentic NY cheesecake" and the slice they served me could have come straight from Stage Deli.

On the other hand, there isn't really a BAD cheesecake, so I tend to be fond of it whenever I have it. ;)

Cheesecake Recipe (as requested)

Allan’s Cheesecake

Crust1 cup Grahma cracker crumbs (1 wrapped section)

4-6 tsp melted butter

¼ tsp cinnamon & ¼ tsp nutmeg

¼ cup sugar

Combine ingredients in bowl and mix. Pat mixture into buttered 9-inch spring form pan across bottom and 1 inch up sides. Chill.

Filling

4 eggs, separated

1 cup sugar

1 cup sour cream

1 lb. cram cheese (2 8 oz. blocks)

Juice of ½ a lemon plus the all the zest (use only the yellow skin, not the white pith)

2 tbsp flour

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

Beat eggs yolks until thick and pale. Add sour cream, flour, salt, ¾ cup sugar and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add cream cheese, lemon juice and zest. Beat until smooth. Beat egg whites until foamy, gradually adding last ¼ cup sugar until egg whites and stiff and shiny. Fold egg whites into cream cheese mixture. Pour into spring form pan.

Bake 1 hr. at 325 degrees.

Turn off oven and crack door. Let sit at least ½ hr. (This helps to avoid cracks.)
