I have become somewhat addicted to porn over the last number of months. At one time, I watched it to get off and then moved on with my real life. No longer the case. I continue to watch hours of it sometimes and do not even bother getting off anymore. I just watch it and admittedly it is getting boring but I continue...often fast forwarding to the money shots, then on to the next one.

While watching the videos I have no poblem getting hard (sometimes very hard) but I have noticed that I am finding that getting to orgasm is getting more difficult as time moves on...I am beginning to think the porn watching and the difficulty cuming are related.

Anyone else have similar observations.....

"Do You Think watching Porn negatively affects your Sex Life?"

What sex life?

Watching porn is my sex life.

In actuality, I think that hours of porn as you describe is an unhealthy adicktion. I am impressed that you can be hard for hours while watching it. That you have hours in a row to watch porn is a bit scary.

well.....

I don't have much of a sex life, but watching porn is actually a good thing for me, it keeps me from having to travel to meet an escort, which is good for my wallet, and it keeps me from going on gay.com or craigslist, always a source of disappointment for me LOL.

The problem is I need to buy a lot of paper towels to clean up the results from watching porn :D

Very much the same for me. I actually enjoy collecting porn and looking at it as the mood strikes, which is probably every day. One thing that I have noticed is that it is becoming more difficult to find particularly hot and exceptionally good porn that makes me have a really good orgasm. Most of what I see now gets me to where I want to go eventually but it takes longer because it just seems like the same old thing. As time has gone on, I find that the more off beat the porn, including dealing with fetishes, is what makes it happen for me.

What I found was that hiring escorts affected my porn life. :)

To wit, once I started hiring, porn lost just about all of its appeal. I would rather jack off to the memory of whoever was last in my bed, and to their scent still on my sheets.

...With one or two possible exceptions, such as this rather disgusting and to me enjoyable site:

My thoughts exactly... that's why I really have no clue regarding who todays porn stars really are other than those who are mentioned here.

Also, BDSM porn of a decade or two ago was really quite tame... and I thought that my real life experiences were actually more exciting. That has changed... as I now find a lot of contemporary BDSM stuff to be a bit over the top as in the Boundgods videos. .. or have I mellowed with age?

Still, my present day porn experience consists of watching the new Boundgods trailer every Thursday, and that is mainly to get ideas for real life experiences... even though some of what is shown borders on lunacy at times.

I think watching porn causes an increase in testosterone production and horniness. But, watching porn too much can weaken the response to it. Somewhere in between, watching it frequently but not excessively can keep you in the mood, so to speak.

It can make it harder for you to contemplate or enjoy sex with casual encounters, who are unlikely to measure up to the standard you see in porn. This is particually true if you watch porn involving muscular, shaved or young hairless guys as in Bel Ami.

Funny I thought reading the forum was porn. :D
Actually since the addition of The Gallery... and the new trend to post pics in the Fetish Forum as well... I have really stopped reading this forum... I now spend time checking out the pics. Also my formerly long winded posts have turned into several sentence comments and quips.

Yes, I do find that porn desensitizes us to reality. The more and varied erotic images we constantly expose ourselves to, the less "real life" seems very exciting, I am afraid. So yes, I feel that there IS such a thing as too much porn. And porn situations tend to involve "perfect" looking people in idealized situations, enormous erections, constantly hard, etc.... a lot of expectations if we are talking about what really happens in the average person's life. Not all porn, and not all people, of course, but in a general sense...

"Grab your dick and double click. Porn! Porn! Porn!"

The "World of Warcraft" version has clearer audio because it comes from the soundtrack:

(It's a phenomenal show! Shouldn't this be in a different forum?)

Unreal Expectations...

Everyone is different and porn may affect some people more negatively than others. I think porn often creates confusion as to what hot sex is susposed to be and ultimately creates unreal expectations that neither you nor your partner can live up to. I've tried to quit clickin' on the video porn as much and have started paying more attention to, and having healthy sex with, real men (some are escorts, some are not).

This is a personal response, therefore I'm not suggesting this is true for anyone else. That said, watching gay porn during my "coming out of the closet" phase was extremely beneficial in my life. It encouraged me to care (again) about how my body looks; I've learned lots of different sexual techniques and positions; gained tremendous amounts of confidence as a result. I've had some of the most amazingly satisfying sex of my life these past few years--sometimes with one or more very hot guys and sometimes with just myself.:)

My two cents...

Good question. Too much porn can have the negative effect of somehow debasing the entire experience. I mean hell sometimes pure hot sex is fine and that is what both people want. But, if one is watching so much porn that they start thinking of the person they truly love as a sex-porn object--and they can't get out of that mindset--not good. not good at all. I suppose porn is like chocolate, coffee or red wine: measured amounts at chosen times are fine. Too much may be very unhealthy.

I've looked at porn since I was in my teen's via magazines, super 8 movies in my 20's, vhs in my thirties and internet porn now and used it more as something to do when no one's around. Plus its a safe way to explore certain fetishes. That being said, I have been wondering the last few years why I seem to be so picky with respect to partners and I think alot of it is due to porn actor's average age being around 25 to 30, a crowd I no longer easily attract. That's what makes hiring escorts fun! So I have reduced porn watching as an experiment about a month ago and have found that I am more open, engaged and attracted to more men that I meet this summer.

An interesting thread.

I think that too much of anything can be bad for you, but it is up to the individual. I would liken this to gambling. Some people develop serious problems, others can have occasional fun with it and be entertained. I think that keeping the perspective that it is just a fantasy and not how life really works is a healthy perspective.

Excellent post! That pretty much sums it up for me as well. It's an endless source of new ideas ;)

Negatively affects my bank account.... not my life...

Because it was porn that led me to Clint Cooper and began my very twisted path to this site and to hiring as a very.. umm.. consuming albeit expensive hobby. It also lead me to Jason Branch, Tony Cummings, Alex Martinez, Tony Zerega, Kent Larson (5 times), Jim Slade (6 times), Matt Majors, Victor Racek, Marco Feretti (6 times), Dave Angelo, Parker Williams(twice), JD Kolin, Pierce Daniels, Damien Ford, Arpad Miklas (twice), Rafael Alencar, Rafael Carreras, Trey Rexx and Marco Rochelle (now Stefano, three times).

I was going to include Tyger (5 times), but I knew him before he did porn.... so porn does not get the credit for that. It also doesn't get the credit for Andrew Justice (4 times)... I found him all on my own in the M4Rent listings in Peoria of all places...

I guess, the only negative thing I can attribute to watching porn was Aiden Shaw.

Not a bad average...

Okie
