Well they are a two person operation as far as I know... that is owners Stephen and Matt are the guys that man the phone lines. Now when one or the other has been away it sometimes is difficult to make telephone contact. Hopefully, it is just a temporary snag in their operations due to illness, personal problems, vacations, technical issues, or a combination of all of the above.

I agree. Their customer service was terrific. Are they officially, permanently closed? :(

i liked using them because i did not have to play telephone tag with an escort or wait days for a reply. it was easy to use them to hire a man and not have to worry about someone not showing up.

 

plus over the years, they had some wonderful men; the enduring "ross" and the drop-dead beautiful "olivier" to name a two.

I'm very sorry to hear about the demise of Maximum. On my infrequent trips to New York they were a very useful resource, always providing very high quality service to visitors to the big city like me.

The took most of the risk out of the process. Stephen always matched me with someone compatible and steered me away from guys who might not be. They really did care about the client!

Yes, They always found guys who were into my particular profile of interests, and I could call and arrange for someone to be at my Hotel when I returned from the theater, and a handsome (and presentable) young man would call from the lobby letting me know he was there. I am coming to New York between Christmas and New Years and do not have any clear idea about who to hire. I am hoping that there will be a message saying that they are back in business.

I find it strange that Steven (or is it Stephen?) didn't make a closing announcement on this site unless it was a sudden decision or he had to close due to legal reasons or that no one on this Forum seems to have any information--or again perhaps someone does know something and is just not saying anything due to legal or other concerns.

 

Does anyone have any connections to any of the guys from Maximum outside of the Maximum Agency whom they could ask?

I agree with that. It would have been a nice courtesy to make an announcement and thank their former customers. It might also create a level of hardship to the boys who worked for them, immediately prior to the busy Holiday Season when so many people visit NYC. I suppose their boys will re-surface on Rentboy or another site ...

I'm sure the Ex Working Guys of Maxie Men.. those who Advertise on Rentboy will continue to Work It thru Rentboy!

 

The few guys who did not advertise on other sites for different reasons may now feel obliged to do so, time will tell? I wish them all well in the future.

 

Maxie Men was a good SCHOOLING for anyone who decided to go the "Working Guy" Route in NYC! ;)

Trouble brewing????

 

Now I am not sure if this experience was a harbinger of things to come, but I did call Maximum back in November to inquire about one of their guys… as I was thinking of trying out a different individual. Stephen was away on vacation and I spoke with Matt. Now I have always had a good rapport with Stephen (and not just regarding working guys as we share a number of extracurricular interests as well) and he has always been upfront with me regarding exactly with whom I should hook up. However, on this particular occasion his partner seemed to have no clue. He was not even sure if the person about whom I inquired was even working for the agency… He really didn’t know! Yet the guy’s profile was still posted on their website… So perhaps there were some problems brewing back then as well… I really am not sure… but just a retrospective thought.

 

At any rate, I hope that this is not the end and I do wish them well.
