Well they are a two person operation as far as I know... that is owners Stephen and Matt are the guys that man the phone lines. Now when one or the other has been away it sometimes is difficult to make telephone contact. Hopefully, it is just a temporary snag in their operations due to illness, personal problems, vacations, technical issues, or a combination of all of the above.

I find it strange that Steven (or is it Stephen?) didn't make a closing announcement on this site unless it was a sudden decision or he had to close due to legal reasons or that no one on this Forum seems to have any information--or again perhaps someone does know something and is just not saying anything due to legal or other concerns.

I agree with that. It would have been a nice courtesy to make an announcement and thank their former customers. It might also create a level of hardship to the boys who worked for them, immediately prior to the busy Holiday Season when so many people visit NYC. Now I am not sure if this experience was a harbinger of things to come, but I did call Maximum back in November to inquire about one of their guys… as I was thinking of trying out a different individual. Stephen was away on vacation and I spoke with Matt. Now I have always had a good rapport with Stephen (and not just regarding working guys as we share a number of extracurricular interests as well) and he has always been upfront with me regarding exactly with whom I should hook up. However, on this particular occasion his partner seemed to have no clue. He was not even sure if the person about whom I inquired was even working for the agency… He really didn’t know! Yet the guy’s profile was still posted on their website… So perhaps there were some problems brewing back then as well… I really am not sure… but just a retrospective thought.

 

At any rate, I hope that this is not the end and I do wish them well.
