Dewey Wins!

It happened again-

A day after the Yankees took a commanding 3-1 lead in the World Series, The Philadelphia Inquirer ran an ad from the retail chain Macy's congratulating the Phillies on winning back-to-back championships.

The three-quarter page ad on the back of Monday's front section features a T-shirt emblazoned with the Phillies logo, the Commissioner's Trophy and the phrase ''Back To Back World Series Champions.''

The Inquirer released an apologetic message to readers saying the paper deeply regrets the error. (AP)

Game 5- Burnett has been like this all season. Really good one day, crappy the next. Lee may not as tight as he was in game 1, but the Yankees need some good pitching if they are going to overcome this deficit tonight.

I mean 5-1, in the third??

Even if the Phillies lose the series, betcha Philadelphia throws a Chase Utley parade.

Hey Charlie, is your white towel getting a work out tonight? I can just picture you sitting in front of the TV, waving that thing with gusto. :)

Lucky is there anything you can't do? You are even good as a sports commentator. ;)

8-4 in the eighth. If the Phillies can't get good relief, the Yankees might do it. But don't hold you breath.

Now are we talking baseball or blow jobs here? Phillies getting relief while the Yankees do it. And we who have read the blow job thread know what breath holding is good for. Are any of the players edentulous?

Tying run at the plate in the form of Derek Jeter. And what a form he has. No one out, two on and it the ninth inning, the fateful inning in last night's Philly heartbreak, looms as Scylla and Charybdis again tonight.

So did we lose our guys tonight? That is Ms. and whipped? Maybe their nerves couldn't handle it...

I've been busy scrabbling around in the back my bathroom drawer looking for any leftover meds; my nerves are completely shot.

Edit: Like the man said, back to the Bronx.

Edit: Not to wish ill on anyone, God forbid, but if someone had to get hit on the hand why couldn't it have been Utley?

Jeter Jeter Jeter As Betty Davis almost said. A double play drives in a run but leaves the Yankees with only 1 out and they are down 2 runs. Yet, danger lurks around the corner in the form of ARod and what a form it is.

ARod kneeling on deck, with his mouth dry and his hands filled with the thick bat he would love to use but between him and the chance to lick the Phillies is Masden and ARods Yankee teammate Mark Texiera who with one big swing of his big bat could satisfy millions of Yankee fans and tie the game.

With purplekow a late entry into the game, the Yankees still can't do it. Texeira is ending the season the way he started it.

Bronx Bound... no pun intended!

Well... after having been "tied in knots" last evening, let's all hop on that B,D, or number 4 train and head out to the Bronx this Wednesday. (Not to mention that Metro North started "direct to the Stadium" service this season as well...) If not in the flesh, at least in spirit!

Nobody said it would be easy. Still it will be great to see fans that don't need to whip around silly towels in the air to whip up excitement. My God! Imagine having to sit through all that ridiculousness! Someone might get thrashed by all that swirling action. There is a time and a place for everything...

First all those talking heads going on & on about how the Yanks won't have any reliable pitching left for a possible game 7, and now Lucky posts this. All I can say is that money damn well OUGHT to buy happiness. Or at least hundreds of millions in payroll ought to. :( Oh my aching nerves. Hamels was right.

Nice to know about the Sister though. Wonder if she will be wearing paid in the owner's box?

Tonight!!!!!!!!!

So can Pettite do the job tonight? I'm not sure I'll bet on him, but I hope so. He's been good the last two outings, but through the season has been inconsistent. The Yankees will be in front of the home crowd, and that has to be an advantage. Without Cliff Lee, can the Phillies win anything?
