An Unusual Quiet Summer of 2009!!!

During the past ten years, I have come to this site and to its various forums and have read as well as posted. But I have noticed that this summer of 2009, the message boards have been tame as well as less frequented by readers/lurkers and posters.

 

This has been baffling to me. The decline in participation has been horrific! Are that many guys on holiday, or have they merely lost interest in this site?

 

Has the economic doldrums affected them in such a manner that they have given up in many areas of their lives, including not participating here?

 

What do others think are the reasons for this acute lull in posting?

 

Past summers have been relatively quiet and slow, but not this much!

Yes, it is amazingly quiet - even Brooklyn Guy seems to have gone into summer hibernation!

If it weren't for a few self-promoting escorts, there would be very few new posts.

Having looked into the archives, it does seem like a few years ago it was more going on here and more relevant conversations coming from escorts. e.g. 2003, before I even knew what it was like to escort!

 

I find it can be fun to come through here occasionally, it gets pretty un-tame with me here also since I've come moved to Dallas last year, I have yet to meet a social circle like I had around this time last year. Nor do I live with my party-everyday roommate anymore either. My social life consist of weekend after weekend of blind dates (real dates lol, not work dates). There really isnt anyone to talk to about work. This is ok.

No opinion is any more important than anyone elses. Make it and move on. It just seems there can be some middle road.

 

Personally I think you reap what you sow. You wanted a nicer board well this is what you get. I love a good cat fight. Driving fast on a road without any speed limits and traffic signals can be exciting. Schools without rules and exams would be nice. Work places without managers and regulations would be great. Sometimes it would be nice if we had no rules. Having no daily state alcohol purchase curfew would be great. Although some rules and regulations can make things boring, they are necessary because we as human beings can easily make mistakes and harm others.

 

My understanding is that Daddy implemented some rules to prevent posters harming others and to keep this place a pleasant place to discuss issues. It may seem boring but they are necessary measures.

 

For me this forum reminds that I am not alone. I've learned that other people have similar issues with escorts and escorts have major issues with their clients. I think I can possibly understand the escort business just a little by participating in this forum. It helps me to prepare for my future hire and what to expect. It is not boring to me at all. I can learn something about other people's struggles and can sympathize with them, so I think this site is good enough for me.

 

My health has not been good through out my life and I from time to time think I would be so happy if I had a body and energy like a hot stud. There are too many things I could do if I were one of them. However, most escorts I've met seem unhappy although they could do a lot of things with their strength and youth. Thanks for the support, I think. I certainly don't think BN is perfect but I do think I know him. When there are, for example, 6 attacks and I answer 6 times, that makes it at least seem like I have "over" posted. Maybe so, maybe not.

Having only joined the MC a few weeks ago, I only know that it was more active in past years from the comments here & from perusing the archives. It's a shame as it does provide quite a unique venue for clients & escorts to exchange ideas & opinions. I don't think the forum is too sanitized, but rather that there is a reasonably respectful balance. The users of the forum would do well to welcome new escort/masseur members & encourage the input of your existing ones if you want to keep the boards animated. Without escort participation, self-promoting or otherwise, the discussion here soon becomes stale. I certainly can't see why being a new poster to the forum should preclude the possibility of making "meaty" comments. For my part, I may be new here, but I have over 10 years experience in the business in several countries.

Men! Men! Men! I wrote my thread out of curiosity; I have received some plausible reasons a few that have not been in a kind sense to my initial question.

Be so kind as to return to the question; that would be more than appreciated.

 

To clarify some comments which one poster made, I am not upset by the rules which were established after the MC was shut for almost a month. They definitely had to be formulated and acted upon. Well yes, it's an excellent question. As somebody who moved to NYC 20 years ago, a fan of Show Palace, Cats, Gaiety and Stella's where I would find a steady supply of guys to have fun with, I am surprised at what seems to be a HUGE supply of rentboys these days. Why, yes, I do remember mentioning the incorrect spelling but I don't recall any knuckle rapping AND it was a LONG time ago in the MB scheme of things or so I think.
