Being silly and having fun is not a draw for everyone.

Some of us are rather prone to gripe and bitch and piss and moan.

I do not know why posts are down, why some folks laugh and others frown.

But since you asked me what I think, I think it's time to have that drink.

Has the economic doldrums affected them in such a manner that they have given up in many areas of their lives, including not participating here?...

What do others think are the reasons for this acute lull in posting?

Past summers have been relatively quiet and slow, but not this much!

It's odd: work is usually slow over the summers in NYC. But for me and the friends I've asked who are in the same biz, this summer hasn't seen much a slowdown at all. I don't know if it's the relatively moderate weather or that escorting may be counter-cyclical, but I'm happy as long as it keeps up!

If anything,I would say summer has been busy for me with travel and busy in the hay thanks to the talented sexy man known as AndrewD. Putting my energies into both avenues has been rewarding and a hell of a lot of fun. Having been a lurker here for quite a while, I admit to things being a bit slower but think it might have something to do with life outside being busier. Regardless of the quantity, I still appreciate the quality; in aiding a schmuck like me to connect with an awesome guy, meeting some new friends, and living vicariously through the tales of the noted greats around here who have more variety, fun, time, and mondey in their wallets than I get to have. I say CHEERS!

Don't be so defensive, glutes. Nobody here is accusing you of being over civil.

And KMEM, what the fuck?! I spell your name "KMEN" and you bitchslap me by return post. Bart calls you KNEM" & gets a dozen roses. What the fuck, man! (or should I say nam?)

Zipper, don't get your sanitary napkins all bunched up. And be careful what you wish for. Would you really want to go through a BN scale China Syndrome meltdown every month?

How does what you wrote pertain to this thread? You've begun to do what transpired last year which forced the closure of the MC for a month! PLEASE DO NOT HIJACK THIS THREAD!

Let the absurdities continue!

LMAO!

I certainly can't see why being a new poster to the forum should preclude the possibility of making "meaty" comments.

I guess some people get too proprietorial about it, and think that if someone disagrees with something they say its assumed they are disrespecting them and their business. Not. If it came down to it, I cant think of anyone on here who I wouldn't like in person. Even if we battled it out on here, none of us know each other well enough to hold a grudge. Atleast I dont. But here on the MC, we might just not like each other.

I could write what I really think but I'll save that for an exit interview someday.

You guys are absolutely priceless, first you complain there is way too many personal attacks, so Daddy institutues his timeouts and whatever.

Then when new people join, especially esocrts we give them about a week and as soon as they have an opinion, the lynch mob comes out.

You wanted a nicer board well this is what you get. I love a good cat fight. If we get rid of all the religious nuts, racists, escorts, right wingers, and anyone who might use that "w" word that rhymes with bore,

I would not call us the most inviting group of people. It is through dialogue that we progress not exclusion, and I am afraid that is what this board has become.

You couldnt of said it any better. Although some days a battle will do my head in, it clears up in about 2-3 days and who knows an understanding may come out of it somewhere.

Im just not sure I'd want to get in too heavy a battle with a potential client here. We may end up meeting one day and have to start from where we left off. That wouldnt make for a great mood unless they wanted it like that :D

lol. Yeah some people can get into a mood through a heated debate. I have seen that in a lot of movies where a heated argument leads to a hot passionate love scene. :) I like the fact that no matter what happens you can shrug it off and move on. It is actually a good characteristic.

I like to follow the rules. Is this the formal notification Daddy mentions when he talks about how one post can lead to some very interesting responses but then goes on to say, please do not hijack if there is a request to not do so?

It seems to me that your original post lamented the lack of posts in general then, with the above, you blast MsGuy for posting but not what you had intended.

I freely admit that various posts lead me to make a comment about the post rather than just keep strictly to the topic at hand. I suppose I just need to know what the rules really are and how I can tell if "limits" have been imposed.

You could take this as additional hijacking but I thought starting a new thread that referred to your post on this thread was making things all too complicated.

Best regards,

KMEM

Nothing falls quite so flat as a failed attempt at humor. It's a poor writer that blames his readers, so I'll just say that I was attempting to parody the type of post that several guys were saying that they missed and leave it at that. Next time I will try to remember to use smilies. ;)

Scotch neat is the only way to drink Scotch. Need to really feel the burn.

From a purist point of view, you and AdamSmith may be quite correct but I find it wise to marry my scotch with water lest I feel that fire for hours on end. And I have it on the best authority that it's better to marry than to burn. 1st Corinthians 7:9

Well at least he didn't advocate mixing it with coke (as in Cola). I've had a guest ask for coke as a mixer for 12 yr old single malt - I told him no fucking way - rude host, I know.
