no wonder that bride ran away

:D It's good to see that you're beginng to settle down a bit emotionally. That was obviously your first (last!) serious run in with the law and that is always an unsettling experience.

I tend to agree with your decision to leave Duluth. A town of less than 25,000 is way too small, however discretely you conduct yourself. Based on my own experience with police in small towns, I would guess that your activities have been a subject of conversation in the local cop shop for years. Small town cops can be remarkably well informed about who's doing what with whom and very understanding about this sort of thing so long as they view you as an ok kind of guy. More likely than not some of Duluth's bluestockings discovered CL after all the recent publicity and are prodding them into "doing something about this." That the cops really don't have their hearts in it would account for their failure to set you up for a prostitution bust.

I always thought the police might have known and maybe just looked the other way. Over the almost 7 years i had police and city officials. The lady's at the leasing office here always knew. They told me today that they just looked past it, the people around me never complained they said I paid my rent days earlier than most and kept my nose clean. they just figured it was harmless they thought the cops over reacted. The cop that bought the massage claimed too be married but i suspected him as gay. i think they found a gay officer comfortable enough too do it.. I think they figured lets just get joe with enough too put him out of business.. they did ask if i knew another guy in the area that posted as nude bed massage and i said no... i bet they didnt pay him a visit

Don't feed the troll. If you haven't noticed more times then not when this person has posted he has been less then pleasant.

over the years I'v done it 3 times giving a place to stay too one guy for 6 months, 2 others i paid there utility bills. for a few months. theres more to it than running out and getting a job. I'm leaving this area. i'm selling off every thing i own except my clothing and my dog. I have early stages of MS and I'm sure that will hinder the job search.. Once the court hearing is over I'm sure i'll need too see a good doctor.. Then I plan on rebuilding everything up again, turn this stumbling block into a stepping stone

When someone is in need, no one is being forced to help out. So Joseph's posting of a request for help is not out of line. His situation worsened unexpectedly, and most of us agree that he needs to get out of that small town where he conducts his business. A lot of young escorts live on a shoe string. One might expect an older guy to have a better handle on his finances, but the fact is that he had medical bills which caused some of his debt. Only he can say why he hasn't made the effort to find more lucrative work knowing the peril his finances were in. But the facts are what they are, and would we really want him to suffer just because he didn't follow the same pattern that we might have?

In reading both joseph threads over, not once does he say thank you to all of the guys trying to help him.Everything is all about him. In the financial need column, he mentions that donations would be appreciated, but says nothing about how he will use them to help himself out. We're not off to a good start here.

Not even when purplekow made a financial offer were any thanks extended.

Just a thought...

Joseph-

Have you considered possibly doing some side jobs that are not related to what you were doing before to help cover your existing and past expenses? I only ask this because if you're not working doing massages then shouldn't there be time available to maybe work at a coffee shop or book store; something that is low key but would also show the courts that you're attempting to correct "wrong doings"? While you have talked about leaving the county in the next month if that is possible, a side job employer doesn't need to know that your work would be very short term. Maybe you could stay where you live now so that you don't have to pay the 2k early termination fee and work a side job to build funds for moving in the next couple months after your lease expires. Another idea that I just thought of was to maybe work for a temp agency where you will be assigned to various tasks. Temp agencies fully understand the employees they receive are very short term; here today and gone tomorrow for whatever reason.

By working a side job and continuing to receive donations, this could greatly improve your situation but more importantly, you wouldn't need to be dependent on donations.

Just a thought that I was thinking about while reading your posts about your current situation over the past few days.

Again, just trying to help and explore several different options but I'm sure you've thought of these suggestions already. Hope this helps.

Yes when i first moved here to duluth in 03 i cleaned houses as a side job. I kept that up until i was able too do massage full time. One of my massage clients currently owns A cleaning service. instead of making a donation He is coming by on monday to talk with me about working with him until the move at the end of august. He says it wont be much work but it would help with some of the bills.

I agree

I didn't think TAYLOR-KY meant any harm. Everybody can have a different perspective on this matter.

No of course not. By the way thanks for the civil reply.

hmm

You know I didn't mean it that way. People can have a different perspective on things. I appreciate your kindness too.

I suppose you are right in that people can be just as rude and hurtful intentionally as unintentionally. So I will assume, along with you, that, and I am paraphrasing here, stop begging and get a job was meant as kind hearted and considerate advice.

Escorts don't get enough respect

Josephga, it looks like you're doing the right things so far with handling your bills. I'm impressed that you were able to work out a deal with your apartment complex. I also like that you have set up a site to let people help you with your legal problems.

have you tried calling your credit card company to see if you can work out a temporary deal until you get back on your feet? If I lost my job and didn't have enough money to pay my bills, I would call me debtors to see if something can be worked out. It'd probably be worth a shot. From the credit card company's point of view, the possibility of getting something back is better than certainty of getting nothing back.

Now in terms of emergency money, I don't think that its anything that josephga should be beat up about. I bet that $1,500 is more emergency money than what a lot of other Americans would have available to pay their bills if they lost their jobs. He should be congratulated for being able to have 1500 available, and it looks like he is doing a good job of making that $1500 stretch so far.

Finally, please forgive me for feeding the troll, but I was disgusted when another poster wrote, "...instead of begging ...get a job". I have a lot of respect for escorts especially because of incidents like what has happened to josephga. From what I can tell, escorts take on MUCH more of the legal risk for what they do than clients. Clients don't have to post their phone numbers and other contact information on websites and ads. Clients don't have to post their faces on websites and ads. I hear MUCH more about organized busts of escorts than I do about busts of clients. I don't think that we as clients truly appreciate the risks that escorts have to expose themselves to in order to meet with us. I would be interested in hearing the views that other clients have on this issue, though.

Anyway, good luck Josephga. I'm pulling for you.

Thanks so much Return for your kind words. I called the credit card company a few times over the last 2 years and they wouldn't budge. I have been with that card company since 94 never late with a payment and always paid the balance. when i went to the hospital they more than doubled the interest rates.. Some months id send them 700.00 which could have gone into a savings if not for the medical bills, the apartment complex has agreed that i can make small payments on that 2000.00 she said its better than dealing with collections and it wouldn't hurt my chances in the future at finding a place. I also contacted a large number of the other masseurs in the atlanta area either by phone or email and told them what happened and too be on their toes. only 2 contacted me back, and have been very emotionally supportive.

Joseph -

From all that's been said here it sounds like you're eligible for Medicaid.

Someone else is covering your rent costs (your friend) and no visible means of

supporting yourself. Check it out - that would take a big load off of your shoulders.

And to the other posters - I made a small contribution to Joseph and he very quickly

thanked me through Paypal.
