Leona Helmsley, of hotel and "only little people pay taxes" fame, left her five billion dollar fortune to a charitable trust which she directed should be used to support good causes "showing a special preference for the care of dogs." Of the first $136 million in grants (awarded this past spring), one million dollars went to dog related causes.

The ASPCA & the Humane Society are pissed.

Not all that surprising cause dogs don't give kickbacks and their administrative fees are quite reasonable. Where there is a buck on the ground there will be lots of greedy people trying their best to get it, no matter who dropped it. There is a lesson in this though. Give your gifts while you are alive and the people or causes for which the money was intended will definitely get it. Leave it up to some relatives and someone's wearing designer clothes and it aint the dog.

You can be sure that the Trustees or Excutors are taking the maximum allowable percentage. You would think a woman such as Leona would have known that in the end the dogs get the scraps if they are lucky while the lawyers are eating well.

Bump from Rusty. Ben and Bonehead who don't have to worry where the next meal is coming from as long as I don't have to worry where my next meal is coming from. (PS they usually eat before I do)

They must be very cute. My cat tries to eat my meal after finishing his meal, I feed him first before I sit down to eat. Amazingly if I say no he listens and happily goes away. He is so cute. He follows me every where I go~~

You might know now that me Mom passed away on August 1st. Okay... so, she brought Raison... a small black kitty she has had for 17 years, over from Greece with here April 4th 2008th. Nice kitty... but lots of ouches since she feel out of a second story window when she was a kitten and fell into a shoppikng cart. That is how my Mom found her. Got her all doctored up and has had her since. Well, up until my My Mom passed away.

so... I am staying here at my Mom;s house taking care of te Raison~ Ity;s been a few weeks now... and since Nanook, the Wolf, and I have moved in, she has taken her fair share of swats and hisses~ Bad pussy~ Okay... She's over 17 years old~ what would I expect from an aging kitty with pain all thru her body from falling out of a window and having pins in her hips and front legs~ She's freeking hurting~ She can be a bitch~

So... Nanook and I, have been very gentle and patient with the Raison~ We have made efforts to share food, snuggle time and such...

So, now... all three of us sleep together in the same bed. We eat dinners together. The Raison still has her moments. Whaaatever~ I call her Raison: Granny Pins Kitten~ All those pins in her legs and such~ Over all... we git each other. Lately we have been eating together from the same dining area... different plates but all together around the table. I like it. Nanook has a new sister and Raison is figuring things out and getting the idea that we both Love her and want her to be our buddy~ It's all about Love... meow~ Woof Woof~ Grrarr~ Pussy Cats, Wolfs and a Tyger... it's a Zoo here but I like it... We Roam together! Freedom Forever!

Let's give Michael Vick a second chance, maybe it will help him to become a better person.

 

Humane society is partnering with Michael Vick to preach the evils of dog fighting to inner city youth. So is this smart buiness practices or sleeping with the enemy?
