Is it any better in your neck of the woods?

The weather in the NY metro area has been gloomy. It's been raining on and off since last Thursday and no sun in sight. Spring has always been one of my favorite seasons but, sadly, this year the flowering trees and plants are getting washed away. And, to make matters worse, tonight's game at Yankee Stadium most likely will be canceled.

So, who or what's to blame for this gloom? The Democrats or Republicans? :D Well, when Lucky was visiting NYC (hopefully, this wasn't a "forgettable" moment :)), the weather was Spring like and comfortable, then, he left and the good weather left with him. I'm sure it's sunny and warm on the West Coast.

After 5 days of rain, the things to do indoors are running out. Cabin fever is setting in.

Water Water Everywhere

But I must say the Trees Located on the Streets of at least Brooklyn are really benefitting from this Rain!

Unfortunately most are just forgotten objects people walk by everyday! Never mind the fact they let their MUTTS Poop under them! :D

So Hooray for Rain and The TREE'S! :D

I wish we would get rain in Southern California. We are in a major drought that just won't go away. Even Florida is short of rain in a major way. They had to close I-75 across southern Florida because of brush fires in alligator alley.

Rain, mist and fog here in San Francisco. We desperately need rain in California so I am trying not to complain. Just two weeks ago we had a 93 degree day here - hard to figure what is realy happening or going to happen.

I'm bringing some nice weather up to SF this weekend. It is hot and sunny here, so you could have some of that by Thursday!

Cooper, I'll happily send you some wind in exchange for rain. It's hot and mostly sunny here in the desert, but we have had weeks of winds averaging 20-30mph, gusting as high as 70mph, and the sound is beginning to drive me crazy at night.

And thus I'm stuck in the Lauderdale airport. A little bit of rain up north and the planes don't fly.

Come on Coop. This isn't so bad. In Seattle weather like this six days of nearly constant drizzle) is deemed Seattle partly cloudy.

g56, just trying hailing a taxi in this weather, btw, I hear Monday will be a sunny day.

I spent nearly a year in Seattle back in the sixties and my recollection is that it only rained once ---- from October to mid-May.:D

Ted, Thanks for the laugh, humor helps on these NY dreary days. Coop

Cooper, that photo of a rainy warm day in the Village made me really nostalgic for NYC.

Hey Charlie, I was thinking of you and Lucky when I posted it. There are many "rainy warm days" still ahead, why not enjoy them on the East Coast. Coop

I agree that the pic was inviting. There is something nice about being warm inside and watching the rains come down on a historic neighborhood like the Village. On the other hand, I get the Yankees on TV, and watching them play in the mud isn't so nice. Besides, they aren't playing so well.

You mean you don't like to see the wet mud caked uniforms sticking to their hot bodies?

So far San Diego's usual "May Gray" hasn't really happened. A little marine layer in the morning, but sunny the rest of the day. It was cool yesterday, but warm today.

The Yankees played, and lost, yet another mud game tonight. No, I don't find those soaked players any more attractive than when dried out.

Well, for those of you living or visiting New York you can't complain of the beautiful break we had this afternoon and that gorgeous sun :)

Alas, the rain is back tonight ... for a while

Singing in the Rain

It's hard to explain what's going on. Last night NY got almost 2 inches of rain, yet, on the West Coast, Santa Barbara is being devastated with wild fires.

Btw, I hear the sun will be making a matinee performance again today. Don't miss it.

I figure NYC only has another 27 days to go to reach biblical status with this rain. Its so gloomy outside . and Soon I can invest in a canoe to reach the gym .LOL

The sun will come out tomorrow!

To all my fellow New Yorkers, Tomorrow has arrived. AMEN!

Also some good news for tourists, soon you'll be able to climb to the crown of the Statue of Liberty. It's been closed ever since 9/11.

Lucky was true to his word. The weather was *fabulous* yesterday.

It's back...

Anyone visiting NYC this weekend? If so, there are a lot of wonderful things to do indoors. Save the visits to the Empire State Building or The Top of the Rock for the next sunny/clear day.

Also, not a good day for a photo op, so, I doubt if you'll be seeing Air Force 1 doing any low fly-overs the NYC area... Now that caused a lot of controversy and chaos.
