Last night was Towel Night at JOHNNY'S, and 20 of the most dazzling twinks you have ever seen were dancing. Not even TABOO in its Golden Age matched this line-up. It was incredible. They were all young (20-25), smooth, cute, sexy, had swimmers' bodies, were having fun, and were eager to help customers have fun. No skinny kids nor musclebound hunks in the house.

The new owner of JOHNNY'S is doing an amazing job of recruitment. The dancers told me that there will probably be 30-40 dancers tonight and Saturday. There was not a chubby, skinny, homely, or sullen guy in the lot. They danced on three different stages, never wore pants or shirts (there are no "slow dances" in clothes here), rotated frequently, and circulated regularly throughout the bar. The customers were quite different from Montreal. Older gay men in Fort Lauderdale are found at George's Alibi, Ramrod, Steel/Jackhammer and other such bars, but not in large numbers at JOHNNY'S.

On Thurday nights, all night long, all dancers wear only a small, skimpy white towel and nothing underneath. Their dances are fun and interesting, far better than the usual stomp of STOCK. The dancers walked around the bar and stopped with anyone who showed interest, and they would stay to play as long as you liked, as long as you periodically slipped dollar bills into their hands (they had no briefs to slip tips into). If you wanted more, the three completely curtained booths offered further pleasures, and they were well used. I was easily able to stop and chat with and play with every guy who interested me. And they were all in a playful mood and very cooperative. There is a really good vibe and ambience in the bar, which the owner must work on. But BOY does it work.

The dancers whose names I caught last night, and all of whom I would recommend highly, were: THOMAS, IANIS, DEXTER, JOSH, PATRICK, DRAKE, BRITAIN, JESUS, JAMIE, CARLOS, JACOB, JEREMY, DAVID, SKY, AND WILLIAM. And there were several more.

If you can imagine a farm boy from Indiana, blond, somewhat muscled, intelligent, sweet, smooth, with a million megawatt smile and the whitest teeth I have ever seen, who looks you in the eye and wants to help you have a good time, THOMAS will still exceed your expectations. He looks like Jean-Philippe's better looking brother.

If you enjoy slender (but not skinny), cute, ultra smooth, cheeky in every way, and as sexy as they come, try JOSH. Generally, I don't like long hair, and Josh keeps his in a tight knot at the back of his head. But during his dance, he lets it loose, and it is a beautifully tended silky chestnut mane which contrasts with and flows across his flawless skin. And, IMO, highly erotic.

Most of the dancers are home grown Americans, and the few foreign born guys all have lived in the States a number of years and speak excellent English. DRAKE is a gorgeous young stud originally from Brazil, with a beautiful, defined body with gorgeous pecs, abs, legs, ass, and smile. He is charming and willing and very sweet.

Similar to Drake, with dark hair, great smile, smooth skin, and defined body is IANIS. He is very sweet, and enjoys talking and being petted and cuddled.

JOHNNY'S is certainly now the best twink stripper bar in the world. Neither Campus nor Taboo can match the number and quality of the twink dancers here. The owner is doing an incredible job, drawing lots of customers and lots of really good looking dancers. [if you like muscular body builders, this is not the place for you.]

During the day, in Fort Lauderdale, you can enjoy the beaches and the always warm waters of the Gulf Stream for swimming and sunning, and for dinner you can enjoy the many excellent and moderately priced ethnic restaurants: Greek, Thai, French, Japanese, Italian, Colombian, German, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Cuban, Spanish, Middle Eastern, Iranian, and more. And then JOHNNY'S is open until 2:00 a.m. Sun-Thurs, and 'til 3:00 a.m. on Fri. and Sat. to delight you.

Very highly recommended!

I totally agree with you. I was at Johnies about 3 weeks ago on towel night and it was great. All the guys are hot and very friendly. All they have is the towel so the private dances are even more fun. I left Johnies to go to Boardwalk for their towel night and what a mistake. Most of the guys at Boardwalk wear something under the towel and most are trying to hustle you, not friendly like Johnies guys.

I also agree with you about Thomas, what a great guy. He is very genuine and sweet and likes to have a good time.

I went to Johnny's last night and I was totally baffled by the drastic contrast between what you've written above and what I observed in person. What I saw was a tiny dark bar with music so loud it was actually painful and about 30 pushy young kids who didn't look like they should be trying to make money based on their appearance. I tried really hard to find one above average guy who was worth spending some money on but failed so I moved on to Boardwalk which was only slightly better because Helmut (formerly of Campus) was there. Yes, the new owner of Johnny's is recruiting like crazy. But he seems to have a policy of "anyone with a cock can dance here." The only excitement found was Jacob - formerly of Boardwalk. I just wish he looked as good as he did 5 years ago! But he's still fun. I'm starting to wonder if the OP works for the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce - all these rave reviews for places offering mediocrity is such a disservice to this forum. Good news though: Danny from Stock is in town - and is inquiring about where he could dance. Anytime somebody from Montreal shows up here, they immediately become the most popular dancer in town. Sorry Karl, no stripper bar in Fort Laud can hold a candle to Campus or even Taboo! I think I'm going to check air fares to Atlanta! This is tragic!

LustinGuy, I was at Johnny's a week ago Saturday night, and it was great. It was after Thanksgiving, so the number of customers was lower than usual. That was fine with me. There were at least 7-8 really nice cute twinks with solid defined or well toned bods. This is better than I've ever seen at The Boardwalk in one night. There were a few dancers with larger builds, but most of the dancers were twinks. There are a few dancers who are out of shape, but again, not as nearly as much as The Boardwalk, where I think about one third of the dancers shouldn't be dancing anywhere.

I don't do many lap dances. I only do them if I really feel comfortable with and like the dancer. I had a lap dance with a newer guy who is really nice and was eager to make sure I enjoyed it. At least here you have a private room. I would never do another lap dance on those awful massage chairs at The Boardwalk. The chairs were meant for massages, not lap dances. And, as pointed out, it's one big public room.

I have said this in the past, and I will say it again. When anyone evaluates these places, he needs to give a balanced view. Information about different dancers is helpful. But totally one-sided enthusiastic reviews, such as every dancer was great, are not helpful. Every night is not a good night. Some are better than others. The noise level can get too high at Johnny's. I bring ear plugs with me and wear them most of the time. I can still talk to people without going deaf from the music. The drinks are cheaper than The Boardwalk.

I've never been to the clubs in Montreal. So I can't comment on comparing them. All I know is that the quality of dancers at Johnny's has improved dramatically under the new management. It's a friendly place, and most dancers are not pushy.

Definitely some good points about Johnny's. No doubt, it has improved over recent years... especially the lap dance area. I had a great time in there with Jacob. Now, if they could just get more than 1 or 2 guys that were worth looking at (and spending money on), I'd be there every night!

I think that an enthusiastic review based upon the guy's experience is just fine. Most of us are not going to go to the bar anyway. The fact that we all have different tastes means that one guy's enthusiastic review is another guys so-so review. It should all be taken with a grain of salt, but let's not rain on anyone's parade. If he had a good time, he should feel free to say so and not have to worry that someone else won't enjoy the guys as much as he did.

I guess my hope for this site is that it would provide some useful information for people who are actually considering going to the places being discussed. Rather than an outlet for emotion. If posts are based on the idea that most people will never go to the place - this is all a waste of time! Overwhelming praise for a pile of junk is just useless as trashing something great. I'm just suggesting a dose of reality here... a little balance. And clearly others agree somewhat.

And I only started "raining on his parade" after I was disappointed half a dozen times by posts from the same member claiming a dramatic improvement... only to show up in person and find the same tired, old, pushy, out-of-shape hustlers year after year.

What if one of our fellow members on this site planned a trip based on these glowing reviews and expected to actually be like Montreal??? That would be a true disservice!

I'd love nothing more than for the quality of dancers in Fort Lauderdale to approach Montreal since I travel here often to see my family. The sad realty is that that hasn't been the case for at least several years. Perhaps demonstrating disappointment with the status quo is one way of encouraging improvement.

There's a difference between being enthusiastic, and giving out exaggerated one-sided information. Are you saying you don't care about giving a well balanced report? That wouldn't be very helpful for escort reviews, would it? If a poster habitually says that there were 25-30 dancers that night, and every one of them was great, that's not helpful or accurate if only half were great, especially if this type of reporting is habitual. It's almost laughable to say that there wasn't a bad dancer in the lot. That just doesn't happen in any stripper bar. It's pure propaganda. Saying you had a good time is one thing. Giving out false information is another. If a poster wants to write a review, totally focusing on what a good time he had, that's fine.

While most of the members may never get to Johnny's or The Boardwalk, many visitors here are very interested in knowing about these bars. For these members, accurate reporting is important. You can't say that because most won't go there, who cares about those that do? I live not too far from The Boardwalk and have frequented both places. I know what's accurate and what's very exaggerated or misleading.

Nobody is trying to spoil anyone's fun, but it doesn't detract from a person's having had a good time to be a honest reporter. Can you imagine every newspaper review of every restaurant being totally positive about everything the reviewer ate there because he had a good time? That wouldn't help the customer decide what's better to order and what's better to avoid, would it?

It doesn't matter what type of establishment you're reviewing. Honest objective reporting is the guideline, whether you had a good time or a bad time. You don't change the facts because you had a good time. Quite a few posters have been to both bars and have given the pros and cons of each. That's helpful. The OP of this thread has regularly provided information on individual dancers, listing just about every dancer there that night. That's very useful as a guideline, even if the descriptions are not always right on. Most people can't remember the names of more than five dancers. But that's neither here nor there.

[b/]If someone wants to live in fantasyland, that's fine. Just don't try to turn fantasyland into reality when providing a public report.[/b]

Given the need for participation here, it just seems counterproduuctive to knock someone who went to a strip club, had a great time, and reported back in detail on his advenure. As they say, your mileage may vary, but let the guy have his due to report on his own experience.

RE: JOHNNY'S Could it be ?

Could it be that one mans best night in his life is with an average twink?

Could it be that someone has never been to other places such as Johnnys to compare?

Could it be that some customers are not excited by model or muscle looks? They just like average?

Could it be that some guy just loves Johnnys because he does?

(but might be trying to help drive business to the place)

I have a place in NYC that I visit often that some say "ARE U CRAZY?" "WHY DO YOU GO THERE, THE PLACE IS A DUMP?"

I wont say where it is because I dont want it ruined by the police.

All I will say is that the dancers are less than average and its just a place to go and have a good time. Its not fancy in fact I laugh at the style of the show, the lights on the dancers are hand held and I wonder if the glass's get washed, but the people and staff are friendly and I feel safe there.

I dont spend a lot of money there because the dancers are not the best but on a monday night its one of the best places I know of to go and have fun.

The Manager/Promoter makes you feel like you have know him for years.

Do I want them to change it and fix the place up? NO, I like it the way it is.

I have taken others there and they say, "WOW, I had a good time tonight".

RE: JOHNNY'S Could it be ?

Sure, Taz... all the things you wrote are possible... but they don't apply to the original post.

The OP didn't saying this is a dive or a place for guys who want to pay for "average."

He wrote:

"No skinny kids nor musclebound hunks in the house."

"doing an amazing job of recruitment."

"There was not a chubby, skinny, homely, or sullen guy in the lot."

"Their dances are fun and interesting, far better than the usual stomp of STOCK."

"beautiful, defined body with gorgeous pecs, abs"

etc, etc, etc...

I went there, I saw what they have to offer and I found his posts to be completely inaccurate. And it isn't a one time thing. Every time I read these glowing reviews, I go check it out in the hopes that these places have improved their lineup. And I'm disappointed every time.

I'm happy to go check out a dive - I just don't want to be tricked into going because someone said it was a top notch place.

I thought this forum was intended to provide useful, reliable information to others who may want to patronize the escorts and/or establishments discussed. My comments are intended for the guy who has never been to Montreal or Fort Lauderdale or Atlanta or any other strip club destination: I think we're doing that guy (and you!) a real disservice if we persuade him that the scene in Fort Lauderdale is comparable to Montreal in any way.

RE: JOHNNY'S: NOT WORTH THE TRIP

LUSTINGUY HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH HIS EARLIER POST. IF YOU LIKE SKINNY, UNATTRACTIVE, EFFEMINATE DANCERS, YOU'LL LOVE JOHNNY'S. IF NOT, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR GAS ON THE TRIP THERE. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, ON WEEKENDS THE MAIN ROOM AT JOHNNY'S WAS TURNED INTO A DANCE CLUB WITH THE LOCAL YOUTHS POURING IN FROM THE STREETS TO GIVE THE CLUB AN ATMOSPHERE MORE LIKE A HIP-HOP CONCERT THAN A MALE STRIP CLUB. NEEDLESS TO SAY, BOZO HELD ON TO HIS BILLFOLD VERY TIGHTLY......

FINALLY, THE LEVEL OF THE MUSIC PLAYED WAS PAINFULLY LOUD. IT WAS TORTURE TO HAVE TO SIT AND LISTEN TO MUSIC BLASTING AT THAT VOLUME LEVEL. BOZO AND HIS FRIENDS WERE UNABLE TO HEAR EACH OTHER TALK. BOZO STILL HAS AN EXCEDRIN HEADACHE FROM THE MUSIC.

RECOMMENDATION: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT JOHNNY'S....AT LEAST UNTIL THEY GET SOME DECENT LOOKING DANCERS THAT HAVE SEEN THE INSIDE OF A GYM, AND THEY DRAMATICALLY LOWER THE INTOLERABLE LEVEL OF THE MUSIC.
