After three weeks of living with an alcohol ban and only being open Thursday through Saturday, Stock will be returning to normal this week. On Wednesday they will again be serving alcohol and will open at 8 for ladies' night. Then this Thruday, the 14th, Stock will host a "Mega Party" with an open bar all night long. One dancer also mentioned that the stage area will undergo some renovations this week before their grand reopening. They will get rid of the step on the stage near the pole, making the stage all one level and lights will be put into the floor of the stage that will shine up onto the dancers.

I was very surprised to see the effect that the alcohol ban had on Stock when I was there this weekend. On Satruday night at around 11:00 there was a very small crowd of about 50 customers. But for those of us there, they had a lineup of 37 dancers to entertain us. Most of the dancers and waiters I talked with admitted that the alcohol ban had a really bad effect on their business, so it's great to hear that everything will be back to normal soon.

Rhetorical Question

I wonder how many of the NY Gaiety crowd get the 'benefit' of 'second tier' private rates based on their previous history with the dancers in NY? :o

As for the Stock Bar renovations, when I passed by last night (Sun), the lights were on, but the men inside weren't dancers but work men. In one day, the old floor has been removed, the old stage is gone, and the walls are being sanded. They seem to be moving fast as a new and wider stage is almost complete. Re-opening with new stage and liquor is on Wednesday.

During the 3 weeks that Stock was under their new schedule, the management suggested going to West Side Bar as an alternative. On Thursday night while at Stock, my friends and I decided to see if the action there had improved. When we asked about the "free shuttle" that was supposed to bring you to West Side, we were told it wasn't available that night. Fortunately, 2 Stock dancers, Kevin and Shad, said they would drive us over, otherwise, it's about a $7.00 taxi ride.

Thursday night at West Side was one of their ladies nights and the bar was basically empty. There were 3 regular dancers working and no additional Stock dancers as promised. The doorman/waiter/dancer named Mathieu is very nice and sat with us for quite some time... The dancers at West Side don't dance one after another, instead, 3 or more songs can go by without a dancer on stage, however, with a litte encouragement, both Kevin and Shad, took to the stage and added some well needed excitement to the lineup.

I returned again on Sunday night after having called ahead to see if any of the Stock bar dancers would be working. I was told there were 6 dancers scheduled. When I arrived, the action was even slower than Thursday night. There were 4 dancers not 6 and only 2 took to the stage in a 1 hour period. The others, were playing games on the computer or talking with the crew doing the live webcam. They paid absolutely no attention to the few customers that were there. The friends I was with saw this as being very rude.

On Sunday night, Philip was the doorman/waiter. He's Mathieu's older brother and very friendly. He no longer dances, but was a regular at Campus about 4 years ago. He told me that West Side is basically a bar for the locals and that it really doesn't attract the out-of-town crowd.

Bottom line, West Side was not a good alternative for Stock and I won't recommend it.

RE: Rhetorical Question

"I wonder how many of the NY Gaiety crowd get the 'benefit' of

Trying to answer a "rhetorical question". ;-)

TY: As someone who fits this category, I find your question very difficult to answer. One reason is that we have an exchange rate to deal with. Using today's exchange rate, if the "NY crowd" were to pay $200 CD for a G-type private in Montreal that would equal $160 US... On the other hand if I were to pay $125 CD for a private with a Stock dancer I know from the Gaiety. I might have already done a few lap dances with him ($10-20) per song, and purchased him a few drinks. Then the price might be equal or more... Also, when a Montreal dancer comes to the Gaiety, he's responsible for his travel and hotel expenses, not me.

Gaiety privates and costs have been discussed very openly on this forum, while privates and fees in Montreal have not. From my point of view, it's cheaper for me to see a dancer in NY than going to Montreal, and that's a rhetorical answer. x(

RE: Rhetorical Question

My rhetorical question seems to be ill posed and that would have escaped me but for your rhetorical response. :D

My target was considerably lower in altitude than a cost/benefit analysis which as you demonstrate has several facets to consider.

Simply put, when a client and escort have 'established' a relationship ( read rate for service) in one local market and then they meet up in a different local market with different prevailing rates the question is:

Which market rate does the dancer attempt to apply?

More specific to the example at hand, I suspect there is a tendency for the dancer to fall back on the NY rates or at least in that direction. This in contrast to rates quoted locals or new American clients. I also suspect that there is some tedency on the part of the NY clients to acquiesce if not embrace that position because of a feeling that it is inappropriate to 'violate' the prior 'relationhship'. I know that I have had to deal with similar issues when I saw the same escort in different venues although the issue was placed totally on my shoulders when the escort said "you decide". I hate being in that position. :o

******BOZO T CLOWN******

BOZO IS BACK FROM SPENDING THE WEEKEND IN MONTREAL, AND THE SUMMER- LIKE WEATHER ACTED LIKE A MAGIC POTION THAT BROUGHT OUT ALL OF THE HOT LOOKING GUYS IN THEIR TANK TOPS...YUMMY.

WARM WEATHER AND HOT LOOKING MEN. BOZO WAS IN CLOWN HEAVEN.

AS FOR THE STOCK RENOVATIONS, WELL, THEY WERE NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE. THE BAR COUNTER AT THE FAR END OF THE CLUB WAS EXTENDED ABOUT 20 FEET TO THE POINT WHERE IT ALMOST REACHES THE ENTRANCE TO THE CLUB. THIS CAUSED A LOT OF STANDING ROOM SPACE IN THE BACK TO BE LOST AS WELL AS ABOUT 5 OR 6 TABLES THAT HAD TO BE REMOVED TO ACCOMMODATE THE BAR EXTENSION. ALTHOUGH A FEW MORE BARSTOOLS WERE ADDED, IT DOES NOT QUITE COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS OF TABLES.

IN ADDITION, THE STAGE WAS WIDENED A BIT, AND THE POLE WAS REMOVED. THIS IS UNFORTUNATE AS BOZO ALWAYS ENJOYED WATCHING THE DANCERS WITH FLAIR AND PANACHE UTILIZE THE POLE IN THEIR PERFORMANCES.

BOZO WILL BET A BOTTLE OF HIS FAVORITE SELTZER THAT STOCK BAR DID NOT USE A GAY DESIGNER FOR ITS RENOVATIONS. x(

In my limited Stock experience the pole was seldom used as most dancers never completely 'de-pants' -- one of my petty gripes. I'm suspect that this wasn't lost on the management.

Ahhhh-but the ones that did/do and enter one thir second number errections proudly waving in the air and then make love to the pole(both of them :7 )Irmember one boy used to jumpand grab the top of the pole=do a split-and then hump the pole as he descendedshowing his pretty hole on each thrustand then his big cock-ooooohhhmakes me wet.

But then I can also remember when there used to be erotic duos and at least one dancer at the stock used to shoot a load for the audience.

Now all of this is saved for the web cams-pity.
