Steven... It seems that Uraguay and the UK top the list for gas prices. Belgium is ranked number 15. Since you will be in Paris shortly, France comes in at number 12. The USA is number 102 on the list... so why not visit here instead? :-)

At the bottom of the list are Iran, Iraq, and last but not least Turkmenistan at number 141!

Hi Steven,

Beat you? Or spank you? ;-)

Gas is even more expensive in the UK than on the continent, I'm told.

However, I remember reading that in Europe a HUGE portion of gas prices are taxes where the US portion is comparatively small. I wouldn't mind paying European rates if the lion's share was paying for road improvements, or research into alternative fuels, or whatever municipal services the taxes are used for.

That is sadly not the case.

I paid $3.41/gallon outside LA this afternoon. :-(

Kudos to Deej! How that line went right over my head I’ll never know!

Still, could Steven be signaling that he has intentions of becoming the quintessential "Masochistic International BDSM Escort"?

>You know Whip, I prefer Marquis de Sade

>over Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. You see the picture.

Actually Steven, I'm still confused. Do you mean you would hire Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade as opposed to Leopold von Sacher-Masoch... or is it the other way around?

From the pictures I've seen Donatien was the more callipygian of the two... so he would be my preference.

We are running around 91.9 cents a litre in Fort Frances Ontario, which is across the river from International Fall Minnesota. A 3.5 hour drive from Thunder Bay, and roughly five hour drive from Winnipeg... and roughly 5 hours from Minneapolis.

Wow this is a really old thread and brought up at an interesting time. Just paid 1.999 for a gallon of gas here in New Jersey. Of course, across the river in NYC it is still about 2.899 As I have posted before, gas prices are always seasonal with highest prices in the summer, but this tremendous drop, in NJ from 2.999, seems impossible to justify in view of the perilous security of Iraqi oil and our worsening relationship with most of OPEC.

I was able to get gas for $2.07/gallon just north of DC this past weekend. Might as well enjoy this carrot now because the stick will come back after Nov. 7th.

>I think across the street was $2.50 last I checked. God

>bless my Vespa (60 miles/gallon) :)

Aren't scoots great? 3 bucks premium and it's good to go for a couple weeks. So much better then having to fork out 40+ to fill up the tank for a car or suv. It's a shame that some Americans wont think out of the box still.

$3.26 across the street from me. No biggie though cause that is all I pay is $3.26 or a little less while everyone else pays at least $30 or more }( }( Really though if the price of gas is bother some then why not seek out other forms of transportation and save a few bucks. And no I wont stop harping on it.

Hugs,

Greg

Can you guys believe that when this thread was started that gas in one place mentioned was 89 cents? Times certainly have changed! it makes me glad to live in Toronto, where it is an inconvenience to own a car. I would much rather be trying to find a parking spot for my bicycle than for a car! That said, bikes can have their own set of problems (like when the brakes broke when I was riding it and was going downhill from a friend's house this morning towards class and had to make the choice of either hitting a car or diving into a bush. I chose the bush and got to class with a few scrapes and covered in mud to write a test. I looked like I had been in a war. Anyway, talk to you later and have a good night!
