My sentiment about this matter is one of disappointment in Steven. The guy I have hired multiple times and had incredible experiences with just does not seem like the type to create such a persona.

The important thing here is that Steven has made public and private efforts to make amends. Hard lessons tend to be the best in the long run and I am sure Steven is well on his way to recovering from this incident.

It’s been a tough week for him and I personally whish him well. I’d certainly still hire Steven any time our schedules connect, that is if he’d still have me as a client.

In the scheme of things this incident is relatively minor given the issues that have blown up on this board in the past. Let’s put this incident behind us and move on.

#57400, "Benjamin Nicholas comes clean"

I had not planned to post about this any further, but an email I just received from a prospective client has prompted me to do so now. More people read this message center than read Benjamin's blog, so not everyone knows that Benjamin recently ended his almost 2-week silence and admitted in his latest blog entry that he was not referring to Derek and me in his gossipy post about the HIV positive escorts (he also mentions that I sent him "an angry email," which isn't true, but that's moot). I don't have anything else to add to what I already posted in the other thread; we are super-safe, HIV-negative and STD-free and plan to stay that way. I just wanted everyone to know that this unfair and untrue rumor, at least where it concerns us, has finally been laid to rest by its originator.

RE: Irony...

Glutes: You've had an axe to grind with me for one reason or another for awhile now. Give it up. Getting old. Getting sloppy.

My blind item on 15 Minutes was just that: Blind. I never went after anyone in-particular and if you had even bothered to post the entire content of the past thread, you'd see that many didn't even CONSIDER Rick and Derek to be the 'couple' in question. The way i worded the item (with the word 'former') completely put them out of the running.

Want real irony? Keep up with the current Bush administration. Next time you come at me swinging, try doling out the real facts first.

Many didn't. But some did, judging from Rick's posts at the time.

The expectation that people will be close and exacting readers -- you know better. Rick's experience shows they aren't. (Never mind the ambiguity, already argued here ad nauseum, over what "former" could have been construed to modify.)

By the same token, there was the possibility people would infer that it was Adrian and Blake (whom, for the record, it also was not). Blake was at the time preparing to exit the business, so your description could have been understood to mean them.

I beat this dead horse because it is distressing to hear you again minimize the risk you created for other escorts by posting an item that had the potential to materially damage their livelihoods.

The entire content of the past threads, as you request:

Arlington, he hasn't contacted me, but I really don't need him to. The things Steven wrote about me were just foolish ("To me, straight acting is someone who doesn't act or look like Rick Munroe" and calling me "a loud Chelsea queen") but the comments he directed at others were hateful/hurtful. One thing I didn't make clear in my post below is that while I was never upset at what he'd written about me, I was ticked off at his comments to Scott (and others). But I'm glad the whole episode is over...or is it? :p

It's true, and I am not directing this at Benjamin but at everyone who posts here: a lot of our readers skim (I am guilty of it myself) so if you're going to post anything about anyone else, please be direct and unambiguous. Thank you, and good luck. :)

RE: Steven Draker

By all accounts, those who have hired Steven Draker like him. I also liked him just from his board postings and his private emails to me. So it was a big surprise to find out that he didn't like me. I think that if you are going to tell someone in a private email that you wish him well and look forward to his funny postings and then trash that person and his postings under another name, that makes you a bit creepy.

The Final Thought

Guys, I have to tell you, the last few days have been extremely tough on me. I really appreciate the words of support and votes of confidence that have been posted here or sent to me in private messages. Even the critical words posted here have their place - in giving me a 'wake up call'.

I fucked up with the IceFireWizard stuff and wound up getting bonged in the head. What started out as just a little alter-ego devilish fun behind an alias spiraled and turned sour. I learned my lesson the hard way. It is one I will not soon forget.

Like I said in the title of my original post to Scott, there is NO excuse. (I mentioned the stuff there about stress mainly just to give a little perspective on where I was coming from. People say an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Well, in my case, maybe so too is a mind under a bit too much stress - and getting not much sleep while on the road travelling.)

Everyone knows this Message Board isn't some 'old ladies church group'. As has been pointed out by others, one of the worst things that can happen here is if escorts start blabbing about clients (even inadvertently), violating confidentiality. I wish to say that in my 4.5 years as escort, I have always been a 'stickler' for confidentiality. Posters here may volunteer that they've been my client, but I would never bring up such a topic first. I take the 'my lips are sealed' part of my job very seriously. I know that discretion is vital to being a successful escort, and I never forget it.

I don't know if all this really does resemble 'Dynasty' or not (like Augustman wrote in the "No Excuse, SIR" thread), but there is one small thing that I actually feel pretty good about. My mess has caused some posters who rarely (if ever) talk to each other to do so and to actually find things they can agree on! (So maybe IFW wasn't all bad! :+ Just kidding ...)

Time now to turn my attention back to my work and to doing the best I can with my clients. I'm looking forward to the Monarch cruise.

Sincerely,

Steven Draker ~

RE: The Final Thought

"What started out as just a little alter-ego devilish fun behind an alias spiraled and turned sour."

Years ago, I participated on a travel board that had little-to-no moderation. Some of the regulars created aliases for devilish fun: I presume to poke fun at the posters who annoyed them most. It's amazing how the subject of travel can bring out serious class warfare, quickly separating the haves from the have-nots in remarkable fits of blatant jealousy. (God forbid anybody mentioned Oprah or Starbucks. Those fights made this place feel like a tongue up Rick Munroe's ass.) Occasionally, a few of the pesky devils got caught, answering one thread in one name and then responding in the same voice under the aliases name, a log-in snafu. And of course, with so much egg on the face, one of the names had to go, if not all of them, because all credibility had been lost.

Nobody was permitted to sell anything on the travel board and almost everyone posted anonymously so no real harm was done. If you're considered a star escort here, and not all that anonymous, the credibility issue can adversely affect someone's bottom line, especially if PR isn't handled professionally.

I live in a world where fees are high, pockets are deep and the pressure is always on. Fair people realize that no one is perfect and mistakes happen. Taking responsibility when shit goes wrong is always the mature and prudent choice. Dodging responsibility, screaming defensively, and shifting blame can get you shit-listed in my industry.

As far as I'm concerned, Steven, you behaved like a mature professional—while the devil possessed Miss Jones. Not everyone will agree with me but so what else is new. As for Dynasty, did I ever mention the time I worked with Joan Collins? :-) Fun woman, cheap wigs. I have a feeling she would enjoy you.

I wish you the best of luck.

I've hired Steven. He was a total professional and a lot of fun. I understand what he did - it is a smart move that he got caught in. Perhaps that describes him best he has smart moves but he can be caught.

Is there disappointment in his actions for me? Yes. He used the alias to attack another escort who I hired him to work with. This escort I greatly respect for his escort. Sadly I understand his actions and it's disappoints me - because it's human nature.
