Hey everyone, I'm not talking shelf life here... When checking through the Florida escort reviews, I would guess that 30% are out of date, no longer in business, or have no recent reviews for over 2 years. Can't we ask HooBoy to clean these out???? I personally know that one escort still listed has been in prison for the better part of the past year and will reamain there for another year. Cleaning house would help us all and save time. Thanks in advance.

With a little help from his friends.

Have you offered Hooboy info on your acquaintance currently residing in the Big House? Just as HB cannot provide all the reviews himself (much as he might like :9 ) he needs help in keeping track of those in and out of the game for whatever reason.

I know that I have pointed out to him a few inactive guys that he followed up on then removed. All it takes is an email.

In addition to TY's excellent comments, Hooboy actually does have volunteers writing to escorts with "old" reviews. You'll see their responses/confirmations (or lack thereof) at the top of the review pages. The problem is volume. There are a LOT of reviews!

Also note that deleting a review page isn't always the best course of action. Several times each year, someone who was once deleted becomes active again and their "history" (good, bad, or indifferent) is completely lost because it was deleted. The repository of history on this site is invaluable.

There are a couple of scammers out there who would LOVE to have their history erased. One reason this site exists is to expose them. Removing their reviews because they're "inactive" would be an invitation for them to try again.

I'm all for flagging reviews of inactive guys, however Hooboy can never know for sure. Your prison pal may be back on the block the day he gets out, and wouldn't he hate it if his review page says he's inactive preventing calls?

So what's the process us average denizens of Hooville should follow when we find an inactive escort/failing contact info? For that matter, what's the response here upon receiving a report someone's contact info is out of date, not working or whatever?

I do see your point that failing contact info may be a necessary but not sufficient condition for removing an escort. Escorts do move, change e-mails, loose e-mail passwords, change phone numbers or whatever. Someone may be keeping local advertising up to date but possibly not be aware of this site or the benefits of cooperating with the review process. Interesting conundrum.

Write to Hooboy with the information. hooboy@male4malescorts.com

Only Hooboy knows. And it probably varies depending on how busy he is. I've seen him post notes saying "email bounced on <date>".

It is indeed a connundrum, because what if the guy resurfaces a few weeks (or months) later? Not an easy decision-making process either way you go.

The thing to remember is that this is not an advertising site. Nothing anywhere says the guys reviewed here are available today. This site is a compendium of past experiences. The past doesn't get erased just because a guy's email bounces.

Inactive escorts are "delisted" when their contact information is no longer valid.

Their reviews remain intact and in most cases have the same filename. If the escort resurfaces, the contact information is corrected and updated along with his reviews. If he does not reappear, the reviews and the links to his escort personna remain (except in exceptional cases). However, links in his respective "state index" will be less cluttered with deadwood. Bad email links will be deleted as we uncover them.

I bought a highly rated program that checks for email validity on my entire site in a matter of minutes. On my first few scans, I uncovered some mistakes, so I prefer sticking with the human touch for now until the software can be fixed.

If you get a bounced email, simply forward it to me with the NAME/CITY of the escort in the subject line. I will know what it is, and we will attempt to contact him through other means, if necessary. It will take about 5 seconds of your time and save me a bunch.

Thank you.

I'd like to know what that program is. I think you bought a pig in a poke.

The ONLY (only, only, only) way to validate an email address is to send to it and get a response. You can validate the syntax of an email address with a simple RegExp in a VBA macro written in Word or (ahem) Frontpage, but you cannot not verify its validity short of sending to it and getting a response.

some of the out-of-date escorts are still active but have just not had reviews in a long time. for example, today steve kelsen was reviewed and it has been almost a year and a half since his last one; i see an escort who will dance at the gaiety every couple of years if he needs the money but in between, i'm the only client he sees; his old review could help anyone seeing him at the gaiety.

my suggestion would be to leave the old reviews (perhaps in a new section called "inactive escorts") as not only are some of the guys still active and just not reviewed but also, some show up again when the need some easy money after a time of "retirement" (think aron lawrence who made a brief come back).

If one is interested in an escort who has not been reviewed for some time, one can always make an inquiry here in the Deli, which often brings forth responses from guys who know something about the escort or who have hired him more recently but have not reviewed him. I don't always bother to review someone with numerous previous reviews if I have nothing new to add, and I'm sure other clients do the same.

The real issue is updating or eliminating escorts whose contact info isn't valid. From both the perspective of escorts and clients, a review is less helpful than it could be if there is no way to contact the escort. Reading between the lines from Hoo and Deej, it sounds like escort review are retained inactive in the database in case escorts resume escorting after a break.

Hard to hire someone if you there is no way to contact them.

The process of verifying and updating escort info is a long and tedious one. I know Hoo has put alot of work and time into it. This was done a little over a year ago and is again in process. Over the past couple of months over 2700 listed escorts have been contacted.

Here's the basic process.

Each escort listed is sent an email asking to fill in a short form to update info and return it to Hoo. The listed email addy is used.

If the updated info is sent back, Hoo cuts and pastes it into the escort's review page right under the photo. You may have noticed it.

If the email bounces, the escort is contacted by phone (if listed). If the phone is valid, we get his current email address and the process begins from the top. If no phone is listed or the phone number is no longer valid, the escort is removed from the Reviews Index and his file is parked out of site. The file is available to be relisted when and if we get valid contact info.

If you know of an escort who is still in the biz but has ended up delisted, have him contact Hooboy with his current contact info. We can't help it if some of the guys flunked Marketing 101. :+

Hope this helps.

Barry :)
