The problem I have is not with him but with you. You don't know shit about this guy. You don't even know that the person posting under his screen name is really him. So how is it that you vouch for him?

 

I think some others have a problem with escorts who use this messaage board to advertise but don't wnat to pay the owner a fee for advertising on the site. Some do that to a modest extent, but this guy seems to do it constantly.

I respectully disagree. The post does not relate plans for imminent travel, rather an update on contact and website. This seems an appropriate use of the forum by clients and escorts alike.

 

Imminent travel is most appropriately placed in the travel forum. It makes sense for the escort's benefit because that is where clients look for travel info.

 

However, an announcement of long term travel plans seems better placed in this forum because such travel may not have hard dates set and because posts disappear in the queue over time. Such info is of client interest as exemplified by those who posted their disappointment at missing Bruno on his first tour and requested info on another visit. In response he posted general info on return without specfic dates for specifc cities. I suspect that several MC members were happy to see that info.

Escorts often post information right here in the Deli, and that's just where it belongs. Just in the last 2-3 days there have been 2 "advertising" threads started by escorts - "Caleb in Vegas is Back!!!" (2/27) and "Gerad is back in Houston" (3/1). And those are by no means the first two here. There are also all kinds of very thinly-disguised advertising threads posted (probably) by escorts under pseudohandles, asking about escort so-and-so, extolling his virtues and giving a link to his email and/or website. I didn't notice you or anyone else coming down hard on Caleb or Gerad for posting those threads or advertising in the Deli. And nobody should. They are entitled to convey their information.

 

From the stated definitions of the forums:

"The Deli - An area to discuss Escorts."

"Escort Travels - An area for escorts to list their travel plans."

If an escort is conveying information other than travel plans he shouldn't use Escort Travels. "Discuss Escorts" obviously has a very broad interpretation on this board, and unless you want to take away an escort's freedom of speech and forbid him from discussing himself, he has the right to post comments about himself *IN THE DELI* and is not violating anything by doing so.

 

And if you check the definitions of the other forums you will see that there is no other forum which is more appropriate for an escort to announce information (such as retiring, returning, new website, new email, new phone, new home city, and on and on). (And please don't try to tell us that that's not "advertising".) For the convenience of both escorts and clients there is a separate section where travel notices are grouped together instead of being scattered among all the other posts that appear here and getting submerged in them. I doubt greatly that the Escort Travels forum was created in order to muzzle escorts elsewhere on this board.

 

So, yes, Virginia, hawk or dove, escorts can post information in the Deli.

Well excuse me but a day does not go by than some escort will send in info re change of address, new pic, new city, announced retirement, announced recommencing escorting etc etc and HooBoy puts this info at the top of the individual escort's entry in whatever state/country he is listed in. Where, IMHO, it belongs.

 

The Deli is a forum to discuss escorts. The people most interested in discussing escorts are clients who can exchange experiences or opinions about certain escorts etc. Some escorts may want to add their comments about themselves in this context or about other escorts. But I still don't see how a thinly veiled self-promotion in the form of an announcement of new telephone or e-mail addresses furthers the discussion. This sort of stuff belongs elsewhere.

No, I am not off the mark but completely accurate. I have seen at least three threads about this guy in the past month that seem to have no other purpose but to advertise him. Don't lie about it. He is one of only three escorts I can recall who uses the message board to advertise to such an extent.
