Is it my imagination? It seems to me that more and more escorts are raising their fees to the $300 and above level. At the risk of sounding cheap I'll say it: This is just too much money for me. I'm not going to go celebate but this is just more than I will pay for escorts.

Check out rentboy and note the number of guys who post rates of $200 or even less. Now I don't live in NYC and its just an anecdotal observation but I can't agree with your perspective just yet.

 

Is it possible that some guys prices are going up (maybe a disproportionate amount of the kind of guys you like) and others are going down? Or new guys are getting into the business and are willing to work cheaper to build a clientele?

 

If thats the case it sounds like a pretty healthy sign for the escort economy. Its been discussed here quite a bit but the consensus I thought was there are plenty of guys at any price point. If you have specialized needs or live in an isolated area you might see more extreme prices. On the other hand it seems busy escorts use pricing to regualate the number of calls they get. Higher prices=fewer calls, or vice versa.

 

Side note I picked up a very versatile stripper a couple of weeks ago in NYC for a $150 and had a great time. I guess you need to keep shopping!

I agree. There was a price spike last Spring/Summer, but since the Fall the prices of independants are back down to the $200 - $250 range in NYC (I have noted here several times that I found a decline in quality in the Fall too. Perhaps, there is a link.), although he is right most agencies are now in the $300.00 range. I am surprised that has not come down though.

I forgot to add that even with the Agency guys, many are advertising on Renboy etc independantly, and if you can spot the pictures, you can get them at the cheaper rate. Often at $250, both sides come out ahead!:-)

I agree with duke and ad rian... on average escort prices are down in my experience. I still see some guys asking for 200 - 250 in my area (though fewer) and one or two even outrageously higher. But to those I have responded that their price is over what I'm willing to pay they have countered with "What are you willing to pay?" I have had several accept $125 without hesitation. Others quote a rate of $100 - $175 at the outset, one a traveller frm the NY market. Now if only I had the wherewithall to take full advantage of this market. :7

 

I expected a recent trip to Tampa to be 'dry' because I was interested in only one reviewed guy and I didn't expect his rates to be in my current comfort range. (He was on his way out of town too it turned out ) So I tried AOL and a local hustler bar. Six hits in 10 days, average outlay less than $75 per... Not everyone was on par with the better escorts, but everyone got the job done. And one guy was gorgeous and hung long and thick with a great ass!! Others, cute if a little scruffy.

 

To be clear, not all guys are lowering their rates but many are so shop around, or if you have the quality guy you want to see pay his rate... there are some I don't expect to lower their quote. I'll pay their rate or pass until my economy will permit that kind of outlay.

Pricing in 2002 was very funny. By far my favorite escort and regular charged only $200. Once I found him on Rentboy (not there any more, sorry), I knew prices had to come down because he was so much hotter than many of the ones asking for more or the ones at various agencies. I sure hope the reverse is not true!

As a rule I don't review AOL escorts -- too here-today-gone-tomorrow. Reviews just clog the data base with too much 'dead code'. I will make an exception for 'long and thick with a bubble ass' if he sends updated photos to post. He is online tenaciously thus might be dedicated enough to have some staying power. I'll guage his dedication by receipt of his updated pics.

I agree. $300 for someone you have never connected with is ridiculous, when you don't know for sure if you'll get what you seek. Of course, if it is someone you have been with before and connected with then although high, would not be out of line. What I don't understand is why escorts in less populated areas charge the same as those in high cost of living areas such as NYC and SF? No comprendo! :-(

Down here in South Florida, we have experienced a steady inflation in escort pricing over the last 5 years that I have been spending the winters here. I am convinced it is because of the number of expensive New York (and other) escorts who swing down here in the "season" to scoop up a little easy $$$ :-) The rents here are nowhere near NYC rents and the cost of living is generally lower but rates for top tier escorts are from $250 to $300 per hour. 5 years ago they were $100 to $150. One escort used to have the tag line "Dirty deeds done cheap". He dropped the "cheap" last year (LOL). We also have a number of Brazilians who you can have for $25 to $40US in Rio who, when they get off a plane here, charge $200 to $250!! Guess they're trying to recoup the airfare!!! :7

Lets face it, why should an escort be any different priceing wise than say Enron or the gas company? To me it all boils down to come common sense and a few questions: What does this guy offer that is special to justify his price? Am I content with the quality I have receievd at the price point I have been spending at? Then there is the ol' "Nancy R advice" "just say no" My experience has always been that most guys in the business are very decent and level headed and usually smart enough to negotiate when what they expect just isn't playing well.:+

actually I am a little suprised by the jump in prices too.

 

Here in the DFW area the norm is about 200hr for an independent and up to 275hr for an agency. You can get less expensive scorts around the end of the month and right after the 1st of the month.

 

lets face it....I have to hire them so I can rent them out to guys....and like any contract labor thier prices change when the rent and other bills are due.

As I and others have pointed here and elsewhere on this site time and time again, pricing is an element of location, supply and certain variables inherent to that particular escort.

 

For example, I do not always fly the cheapest plane fare, prefering a direct or non-stop flight on a carrier where I will receive frequent flyer miles. Those two benefits, at least in my case, generally far outweigh the usual savings of $50 to $100.

I didn't realize that bitching about the price of escorts was considered a contribution to anything. As far as my being a "boring, bitter, self-loathing, dried up old queen, hating the world and everybody and everything in it", you don't know me. What and why I contribute has nothing to do with me as person. SInce you seem to think that it does, I now understand that you have intrinsically tied your own self worth to your relationships on this board. And thats just sad.

 

Since you've analyzed me, allow me to do the same: I would say you are in your late 40's to early 50's live in Virginia in a suburb. I would say that you have never been able to hold a stable relationship. You most likely like to hire young guys, perhaps in their late teens and early 20's you most likely believe that you have some sort of wisdom to impart to them. You see yourself as a father figure. But what you really are is regressed ageing man. You probably have a close circle of friends that have have similar taste in boys, as well a few of your ex boy toys that have been become just too old for you, but are still imature enough for you to feel safe.

 

You spend alot of time drinking, are most likely a control freak, and know that there is a good chance that you will die alone, and I'll bet that scares the hell out of you.
