I can think of a few potential reasons why a masseur or escort would change their name or phone number but I’m interested in hearing others’ perspectives, especially firsthand experiences.

A good few years ago now, I hired a Brazilian escort from the UK (heavyweight) website Sleepyboy for a fairly local incall in London - about 5 miles from the centre. Went well, added him to my favourites. A couple of weeks later, turned up the profile to see new name, new phone number, new photos - but still the same address (as can be deduced from feeding in the (very granular) UK postcode into the SB search function then 'search for nearest' and see "0.0 miles") In fact - a new escort! Another change of escort a few weeks later.  I came to the conclusion that the premises were a word-of-mouth 'first stop' for newly arrived Brazilians getting themselves sorted, cutting their teeth with escorting with the benefits of the mentorship of the last-most-recent arrival and a long-ago-created profile showing a reassuring six-figure hit number on the profile. They would then move more centrally, create their own profile with the confidence that comes from a bit of experience, and up their rates.

Quite a neat 'production line' !

Knowing some providers for years I can tell you why some of them changed names or numbers.

A few changed their names because other providers had similar ones. Some of them changed their names because they got into porn and started using their porn monikers. Also some did the opposite and changed their rm name after leaving porn. One guy changed his name and stopped using his face in the ad because he was being harassed. He also changed his number to a Google one from his direct number.

Which leads me to number changes. There are few who started using their direct numbers and for various reasons started using an app one or burner number because of harassment, to separate one business line from another. In the heyday of escort agencies, a few of the guys never used a direct number and once they left  the agency or met a client regularly they’d give their clients their direct number to cut out the middleman.

One guy I know had his phone stolen and hacked. He thought it better to get a new number with his new phone.

On the flip side to all this, one of the guys I’ve seen for a very long time has never changed his number and I really wish he would’ve. I understand why he doesn’t but still… He hasn’t advertised more than a decade. He’s semi-retired and is very selective about seeing new people. However his direct number is on many sites. Some of his regulars have even posted his number without asking if he wanted it reposted after not intentionally posting it for years. He gets called constantly but only responds if he knows the person/number or it’s a number referred to him by one of his regulars. On occasion, he’ll answer one of the random callers and ask how they got the number. If the answer is something he doesn’t want to hear, he won’t respond to that person again. The shear volume of calls I assume must be maddening, especially if you’re not advertising to a wider audience.
