Every single provider I’ve inquired with in the past 2 days requests an uber ride/lyft. Much better option for me than to give a deposit. But it is clear that providers are sick of the flakers/ picture collectors/ scammers just as much as we are sick of deposit snatchers. In my case I wouldn’t request an Uber or Lyft because I take my own commute. But I can understand NYC being a different market. I also tend to stick with cities that are easier to get around. Despite the differing opinions on here, I generally don’t have an issue arranging deposits. Before deposits, I’ve had times where someone may have to cancel en route to them for whatever reason, so it’s too much of a risk these days especially since my commute can be anywhere from half an hour to a few hours.
mike carey Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to restore some decorum to some discussion themes in the forum. So, another reminder, this time to maintain civility in this thread and to refrain from overly aggressive back and forth responses. Opinions both ways about deposits have been canvassed extensively, and while new insights are welcome, endless restating of your fervently held opinions soon descends into trolling, and that serves none of us well. Other comments on the wider theme of escorting in 2026 are also welcome. + claym and MikeBiDude 1 1
