Signs that hiring is becoming a compulsive behavior or harming your personal life:

• Spending non-discretionary funds on providers, or not budgeting how much you spend on providers.
• Obsessing over a provider when he's off the clock
• Ignoring relationships with friends, family or romantic partners.
• Ignoring physical or mental health.

I have a line item in my budget specifically for this hobby. Nothing in the line item, no hiring. One area where my relationship with money helps.

I used to have a "fun money" line item in my budget then when I lost my high paying job that line disappeared.

Especially if the booking is with my favorite provider. Maybe it's my monogamous nature. Maybe it's that anything less than that expectation would be a disappointment. 

Keeps life exciting and something to look forward to. Totally can relate!

It's a real adrenaline rush, having the sole attention of a really hot guy. If the provider is good at what they do then it's even more intoxicating. IMHO it can definitely be an addiction. I know I have spent more than I like to admit on this hobby. However it's nothing like hardcore drugs that warp the mind into doing things like stealing and neglecting your hygiene. I'd say it's an addiction on the same level as fine dining and shopping. 

It can either be a huge euphoric moment or a huge disappointment. I find it fascinating meeting new providers but it carries its own risk.
