It’s a lot of work!!  My films are edited by a professional editor who uses Adobe PremierePro for editing. The best camera for filming is a i phone tbh, especially the latest ones. Most of the guys I collab with use i phones. I also use a go pro for getting unusual angles. You’ll need tripods, lights (ring light) and plenty of memory storage to keep all the content.

Use I Phones for cameras. Mich easier to transfer video from one phone to the other.  I can use power director for editing.  Fairly easy to use and they have an app.  Best thing to do is have a plan of the positions u will be doing in advance to ensure continuity.  Best to shoot with natural light in the room when possible.  Shooting for an hour will yield about 20 min of edited work.  It’s best to shoot for 90 min for long form.

I've used iMovie for editing, though don't know how that stacks up against other editing programs. Maybe iMove is better for simple stuff like TikTok videos. @MarkBottom2025, how does PowerDirector different from iMovie? I like the looks of PowerDirector...

I'll also agree with wanting to shoot with natural light. I've done a bunch of stuff with only artificial light, and it always looks a bit sad compared to natural light. You'll still want some spot lights to compensate for shadows.

I agree that natural light looks great but you need to be careful of the light changing if you’re filming for any decent length of time. The sun might be providing great light through windows at the start but it can get cloudy or the light changing can make the edit difficult. I always make sure if using natural light that it won’t change during the shoot. It’s simpler to use lighting and adjust the tone with a colour light.
