Sean, dear, you and I have actually had some civil discussions so I'd like to think we can do that this time as well.

 

In my opinion, you're the one that's over the top babe.

 

Privacy (discretion) is important. If you can point to a thread where your privacy has been violated, we'll delete it. If the prime directive is violated, the thread will meet sudden death. You may have to point it out to us because we haven't always been moderated, there are holdovers from the old days, and we're still not overly good at it. It's not a perfect system and we'll freely admit it.

 

I actually deleted one of your own posts because I thought you yourself violated your own privacy. You reposted an amended version without whimper.

 

So, dear, where's the beef? Got a specific complaint? We'll address it. Point us to the thread. If it breaks the rules it's gone.

Sean, I was only notified about this incident, never one that involved you or anyone else.

 

I rarely visit this board because I do not have the time and I depend on the moderators to let me know if something isn't right.

 

Today I gave each of them a way to reach me more quickly than by email so I hope it won't happen to you or anyone again. I apologize that you were the victim of the same sort of thing. I was totally unaware of it.

Sean, it was not clear to me above that you were talking about the e-mail page of this site and not the message center, and for that I apologize. Please remember that they operate differently, and for the most part are run by different people as well.

 

HooBoy's role in the message center has been minimal since the advent of moderation. In fact, he even removed himself from the list of moderators in most sections. Addressing ANYTHING to him here is probably not the best way to reach him. ;-) The moderators, who do participate here, have nothing to do with the e-mail section.

 

Will that change with his new-found full time work on this site? We don't know. He hasn't told us.

I can certainly see your point of view, but in reality they're not all connected as one. I don't want people having the impression that moderators here can go alter reviews or the e-mail section. Those parts of the site are wholly HooBoy's operation.

 

There is already much misunderstanding about how this site works. I'm just trying to keep things clear.

 

But since you mentioned TOS, I went and read 'em. (It's been a while.) There is no mention of policies that are enforced here in the message center (and damn little about what is enforced elsewhere on the site). I'll alert HooBoy to that fact and perhaps he'll make a change. Thanks!

I agree that private conversations should be private. I also agree with Sean that you have publically posted e-mail conversations from escorts when it was clearly the escort's intention to keep the conversation private. Yes, legally, you can reprint anything that doesn't say "Copyright 2001" on it. But it seems to me the pot may be calling the kettle black, here.

Well, there is the button with the envelope, to send email. Then, next to that there is the button to send a "private" message. I have always interpreted that to mean private. It is not email, it is a private message. It seems to me that an email would then not be considered private.

Lucky, Sweetie. When someone sends e-mail with personal and confidential in the subject field of an e-mail it means just that. "PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL" and not for publication. Or private e-mail that anyone recieves. I have never posted an e-mail from anyone without their permission. Its just plain rude.
