Why do escorts lie about their age?

OK, I like young guys. It's a consideration when hiring an escort. I don't even really care about the age if the guy LOOKS young. Some do.

 

But let's face it. Escorts constantly falsely advertise their age. Some by as much as 10 years younger! And you cannot tell by their pictures, they either use older pictures, or the picture is not close enough to see where age really hits a person; in their face.

 

I have many times hired a guy who advertises as being young and the picture "looks" young. Then when I meet them, their face, body, and skin shows their age.

 

There is even a post on this message center from an escort claiming to be 28 when he was challenged by another poster. I've been with this escort, and he is far older than 28, so why lie? It's very wrong and deceiptful. I think if an escort lies he should not get paid because he has misrepresented himself.

 

Some guys like older escorts, some younger. So why not tell the truth? Why do escorts lie about their ages? It's not an honest business practice. Do you think we should start carding them?

I know this is crazy but I don't hire escorts who state they are older than 30. There are a couple of them I suspect were over 30 but I wouldn't have considered hiring them if they listed their age as 30+.

 

From my observation, the most "popular" ages used by those who do lie are 27 or 28. Ever notice the high number of 27 and 28 year old escorts. (Also find it surprising that some have been advertising as 28 for over 5 years!!)

I really don't care about an escorts age. I go by looks,attitude,etc.. What I would LOVE to see happen is ever escort to use an updated picture. I realize many do keep updated pics but would be nice if all did. However to answer your question I feel lots of them lie becuase unfortunately alot of clients do go by age.

for escort ages to be off 10 years or more is not uncommon. for those of us who have been on the internet for along time we can recount the escorts that have remained the same age for five or six years! i sort of accep the fact the age is not correct; sort of like "AOL inches".

 

what i would like to see is updated pictures. some escort picturesare a decade old at least. some escorts actually look better now than their old pictures.

 

personally i believe that "age" is a mental thing; i know "old" 20 year old guys and "young" 50 year old guys. in escorts,i have found some of the best 40 years old and up as they are selfassured and mature; they know what they are doing and how to do it well. alot of these older guys are really "hot". i do not see any reason to lie about age.

I have to agree with you again, its just one of those vain gay facts of life, I do not lie about my age either. I am a proud 30, born june 8th 1971. Always have updated pics posted every 4 months.

I agree with you Kevin. I never believed I would be attracted (no less even hire) a guy in his 30s. Yet, looking at recent pics and reviews on this site and doing my own homework I have hired guys simply based on looks first, and have had a great time! I think we all put too much emphasis on age (that goes for clients too).

Hey Michael...We're both Geminis, 6-3-63. I was 30 years old for 4 years. I still advertise 34,35 or "mid-thirties". I suppose it's silly. There's a guy here in town who advertised 27 for 9

years. He finally bumped it up to 30. If a client asks how old I really am, I'll tell them. I'm beginning to realize that the age thing doesn't matter as much as I thought. Maybe advertising that

Escorts aren't the only ones who lie about their ages. In the "personals" section of my local gay newspaper there is an ad by a guy who claims to be 48; when I met him, it was obvious to me that he was actually close to 70. Almost all gay men are attracted to "youthful" bodies and faces, and we all know that anything over the late 40s is connected in most minds with sagging tits, thinning hair, wrinkles and age spots, not to mention loss of genital potency.

 

Last year I hired someone from an agency, who they claimed was 36; in person he looked younger to me and I told him so. He laughed and admitted that he was really 42, but the agency told him if they marketed him that way, he would get almost no business.

One of the things an escort promotes, and sometimes overemphasizes, is his physical presence. Gay culture and media focus a lot of energy and attention on youth and looks. It's as if we're all plotted on a graph of attractiveness with the x & y axes of age and looks, as you get older your looks fall of exponentially (or so we're told). I think a lot of escorts, especially the twink type, pick up on this and feel they have to present themselves as young as possible to attract a larger client base. I think as younger escorts mature they also begin to realize that other attributes such as intelligence, courtesy, attentiveness, etc are valued just as much or even more than their age or looks by clients.

 

Regarding old pictures, I think the "new pic" feature in the reviews is a good ways for escorts to update what image is presented. As this site matures, maybe there's a way to indicate on the review (or the pic) when it was submitted. I realize it's still possible to submit another old picture but as technology progresses this may change. Some escort sites are 3-4 years old and their can be dramatic changes during that time (both for the better as well as for worse).

 

I'm happy to send people additional pics and will submit an updated pic when I have new ones taken next month!

I never believe the age that escorts claim to be, I just use as a guideline. I just go by the looks. If the photo looks good, I go for it. If, upon meeting, it is clearly a dated photo, I might mention it.

 

I'd rather hire a guy that 28 years old over 18 years anyday. I understand the twink thing, but how many 18 year old guys are in a position to relate to people many years their senior. Also, in ten years can acquire some good bedroom skills.

 

Youth sells. Perhaps many are trying to go back to their youth. Once I chatted with some 19 yo guy on AOL that was just starting to escort. His looks and personality were just average. He said his rate is $400 per hour. Respectfully, I asked why did he think he deserved that amount. He replied that is because he is only 19 years old. He said that each year he will need to lower his rates as he gets older, so he needs to make money now. Ahhhh.. the misguided youth of today.
