According to NYT he lived with a romantic partner beginning 2020.  That relationship ended in 2023.

He grew up in France.

Recently he was prescribed medication for mental health challenges.

Other sources report his parents are Baptist missionaries in South of France.

Southern California is full of sad, alienated people. I’ve met a few in my time.

When I lived there I noticed a lot of burned-out looking people, both physically and mentally, particularly in the beach cities.

I came here for a job offer, many years ago, when I was young, so I can't compare it to other places now.

Most of my friends also moved here from other states.  My closest native California friend lost his house in the Altadena fire, and ultimately moved out of state.

Someday I may leave, but not sure to where.

Yeah there are plenty of famous examples of alienated people here over the years.  Heaven's gate.  Jim Jones Cult.  Manson Family.  Several serial killers

Many wildfires are deliberately set by awful people.   Rinderknecht is one more variety.

I really don't get why this thread is of any relevance here.

Please don't bump threads you dislike. It's a pattern that keeps happening.  For instance, I didn't post about the "Cracker Barrel" logo because the whole thing was a non-issue.

The previous thread about this subject is close, therefore a created another one on this individual and the controversial subject of loneliness and unachievable sexual/romantic expectations by some men who make them turn to violence. This feeling of frustration has inspired many college shootings from Virginia Tech to Isla Vista Shooting

Let's hope justice is served and we all learn how to detect folks who might harm others before they do.

We have clear examples in this forum, but I can't tell if they're concentrated in certain areas of the country or not.
