Thanks for that. bit of information.  It is intriguing idea and something to which I have never really given any thought.  When a spouse passes, I have lived through that and worked through that, but there are lots of people who have been through that particular hell.  My own mother and father were widowed with children prior to meeting and marrying.  But a twin, is someone you have spent your entire life sharing everything.  It must be a very difficult transition and one not many people have been through.

The trailer does give the impression that this takes a dark turn, which may be done in the trailer to generate interest.  In any case, it has an interesting premise.  There have been Twin movies in the past, several come to mind which are about reuniting twins.  Twins with Arnold and Danny DeVito.  The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan which was a remake of the one with Haley Mills and of course Haley Mills.  There have been TV shows about reunited twins or genetically twins:  The Patty Duke Show (Identical Twins each Marry another set of Identical Twins to generate Identical Cousins?) Patty Duke and Patty Duke.  Sister,Sister with the Mowry Twins.  And then of course the movie Stuck on You which centers on the separation of conjoined twins as adults with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear.   This though seems a unique take on the twin theme.  I am intrigued and may even consider seeing it in a theater.

PS Don’t read anything online about this movie.

I was just trying to find somewhere to watch it, and they instantly gave away the plot twist.

Fuck!

Sorry to hear that, sucks.  The NYtimes review said stop reading "here" if you don't want a spoiler, so I stopped.

I hope you are able to enjoy is as a movie, even if it ends up not being what you hoped, if that makes sense?  You'll just have to see it, Twinless is well made and funny and often sad.

To me, documentary "Three Identical Strangers" is the best "Twin" movie. I  was quite close to someone involved in data acquisition for the study.

TUBITV.COM

A jaw-dropping tale of three long-lost identical brothers who are joyously reunited, only to discover an unimaginable secret about their pasts.

Though played largely for laughs, the gay sex in this movie is much more graphic than most movies.  The straight sex is graphic too, but that's not unusual.
