He asked for a 50% deposit, which I stupidly gave. We set up a time and place, and he said he would get back to me. Then he blocked me.

Yeah. I was in communication with him and I started sensing something's off. I didn't pursue further.

Only positive review is someone who made their account 6 days prior. Immediate Red flag.

Basically just wasted my time. Very aggressive and makes excuses that he does not do this or that or what. And asks for additional that's not what we talked about. No follow through and little bit rude. Waste of money and time, I do not recommend

Just out of interest, what were your red flags?  So I can add them to my still set when communicating with providers..

Reported his profile to RM.  profile is no longer active.  Keep an eye out for name changes so everyone can be warned.  Shut scammers down everyone!

BTW, this post alerted me that I earned my 1 year badge from COM.  1 year ago, I joined this site after being scammed and not knowing what to do.  I was still pretty new to hiring so learned a lot about researching, red flags, and both protecting myself from scammers and learning how to hold them accountable.  There are good providers out there who deserve your money.  Just have to learn how to spot them too.
