+ purplekow Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) I have always been a skeptic when it comes to the supernatural but I have had many many things happen which I have chalked up to coincidence but that definitely made me go Hmmm. Today's event is one of the stranger ones. When I first opened my walk in medical office, my wife, then my new GF was working at the reception desk. As we were seeing only 5 to 6 patients in a 12 hour day, there was a lot of down time. My wife was a first grade teacher and she did school work while {wo}manning the desk. On the second day after the opening, she presented me with a 2 inch by 4 inch color by numbers picture of a castle sitting in a glen. She said that at least she got that done. Now it happens that the picture fit in perfectly in a frame of my thermostat and so we scotch taped it in place and there it stayed for the entire 22 years my office was located there. People would sometimes ask about it and I would tell them the story. After my wife died, I would add that she was waiting for me there. When the office closed, I took the picture, which had the consistency of a coloring book page and attached it the a silver plated candy dish tray which had broken and I used one layer of the tray as a frame for the the photo and then hung it in the entry way of my home. Most people never noticed it. My wife died about 25 years ago almost to today's date. Today while going on line playing Words with Friends, the list of Possible Opponents came up, as it always does, and I was struck by the avatar one player was using. It was the same picture as the one my wife had colored 25 years ago. This is not a well known picture and likely came from a coloring book exercise. Add to that the player's identified herself with same as my wife. So, coincidence or message from beyond? Let me know what you think. Edited March 25 by purplekow thomas and + Vegas_Millennial 2
Ali Gator Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Message from beyond, without a doubt. It's beyond a coincidence, IMO. Speaking of a 'message from beyond' (a story I was just telling a friend of mine last night at dinner).... 'Cathy' my cousin-by-marriage, died in her mid-60s back in 2018. I adored her - she married my cousin at a young age (they were both 19). My cousin 'Dan' is her son, who I am quite close (I am 14 years younger than 'Cathy' and 14 years older than 'Dan'). One thing I always remembered about Cathy was she really hated when her husband and son sat around all day on the weekend watching sports on TV. She found sitting in front of a television all weekend was a wasted day. When she died, her husband (my cousin Matt) had her cremated and kept the urn somewhere in his house (not sure where). In 2022, he remarried, and gave the urn to his son, my cousin Dan. After a few weeks of getting the urn, my cousin Dan and I have dinner at his house, and he says he believed he needed a new TV because his had been 'acting up' and he can't seem to fix it : the reception was awful, the color was off, etc. He wanted a new TV before the baseball season started. I go to check on the TV in his living room, and see the urn next to the TV. I told him to move his mother's urn immediately - and explained to him that was his mother screwing up his TV and sending him a message. "Your mother hated sitting around and watching TV ! Remember she used to yell at you and your dad for wasting weekends watching the games all day ? This is her way of yelling at you now !" His eyes and mouth popped open and did what I said right then. He brought the urn into his 'home office'. I told him to give it a few days, and the TV would be fine. Sure enough.....he hasn't had a problem since then. + Pensant 1
jeezifonly Posted March 26 Posted March 26 The brain’s hippocampus houses hubs for both memory and imagination. So, physical links are present, but maybe there’s a bit of magic that allows a particular intersection to warm the heart with presence of a loved one.
ShortCutie7 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I very recently started believing these things, as well- I have in the last couple of weeks had a sequence of events happen that would have been basically impossible without some form of supernatural intervention (I’ll give more details later since the sequence hasn’t been completed lol).
