viewing ownly Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Nikki Glazer was sharp-witted and funny. I'm difficult to amuse, predicting about 2 outward laughs, but I counted 5. Likely a record for anyone, and Trevor Noah is pretty funny to me. Other than Abbott Elementary, I don't watch anything nominated, but I was pleased with the choices of the winners, particularly in the best music categories. Trent Reznor won, and all the Diane Warren sounding mush-fest tunes were shut out. I couldn't get over how Elton John now looks like Will Farrell's portrayal of Haray Caray, the late Chicago Cubs announcer. Pamela Anderson looks unrecognizable from the last time I'd seen her, which isn't a bad thing. We've not only reached an era where network television being nominated is near extinct, but foreign productions are now ruling the roost. "Parasite" winning best picture at the Oscars 5 years ago kicked the door down in a massive way. + EVdude, + Summerson and marylander1940 3
BuffaloKyle Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I was watching the Vikings vs. Lions game but glad to hear Nikki did good. She's pretty funny. She had a great one season show on Comedy Central, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser. Not Safe with Nikki Glaser - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG + Summerson 1
Ali Gator Posted January 7 Posted January 7 As someone else said on another forum, I miss the days when there was just PBS, CBS,NBC and ABC and movies were seen in theaters, so everyone had a chance to see the nominated TV shows and movies. Everyone knew - or at least heard of - the actors and actresses nominated. Now you have to subscribe to dozens of 'streamers' to be familiar with the shows, movies, actors and actresses nominated. Like the awards season itself, it's too much and too exhausting, and I fear these award shows will continue to lose viewers due to 'disinterest'. + azdr0710, BuffaloKyle and + jeezopete 3

Exactly, this is a big part of the reason I’ve never really been able to get interested in film/TV beyond very specific genres and niches. Too many options in too many places, and everyone recommends (read, INSISTS I watch) something different.
d.anders Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I'm still trying to get through it. Unbelievably boring. Had no idea who Nicki Glaser was. Still don't care. Her cleavage is not pretty. I didn't need to have it shoved down my throat. I can't believe this Globe organization continues to have any clout in the industry. It all seems so fake and gratuitous to me. No one seems to want to be there. I can't believe Jodie Foster won for True Detective. I thought Night Country was awful, laughable. It was painful to watch to the end. I did see Sofia Vergara in Griselda, and I thought her performance was 10 times better than anything Jodie Foster offered on Night Country. IMO, the Globes are a joke.
BuffaloKyle Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Nikki has already been confirmed as the host of next year's show: https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/nikki-glaser-returning-to-host-2026-golden-globes-as-first-back-to-back-host-in-11-years/ar-AA1AQHKC?ocid=TobArticle MikeBiDude and + ApexNomad 2
