I am wondering why there are relatively few reviews on these boards and this site of porn stars as escorts, especially since almost all of them seem to escort. Are they that bad??

I've been with both and I've noticed that the porn stars who see themselves as stars, or whatever end up with egos that don't leave a great taste. Those who view it as a means of advertising their services and think of themselves as primarily escorts can be terrific. Like everything else, it's whether what they bring to the meeting jells with your expectations.

In my opinion, Porn Stars cost a lot more, have more attitude, and are not as reliable. I know one should not generalize and some are great, but most I have met are a dissapointment. Also see the thread on Boys-Next-Door in the Lounge.

Well, I have been with 2 porn stars: Talvin DeMacchio and Michael Vincenzo and have found both of them to be sincere, down to earth, interesting and really nice guys. I have had the best luck withporn star escorts, as my messages on these boards prove. I like the idea that I can see what a guy does in action before I hire. There is an interesting story in OUT thismonth about using these guys --- it appears to have become a status symbol for those who can afford them. To me, I would rather pay $300 for a porn star than two disappointintg fellows who may not even looklike thephotos. This website has been a boon, however, because we do get reviews and we can work accordingly. Whatever floats your boat I guess...

 

As to why there are not more reviews, how many morer would you need? Someone like Alec Martinez certainly needs no more than a couple of reviews to cement his reputation as a never-fails escort. I think the writer is asking why there are no reviews of certain porn stars who obviously escort and it could be the johns that use these guys are not familiar with this site or the escort has asked them not to file? I don't have a clue --- wish they did --- I love to read any reviews of gusy I see on "the silver screen."

I put Talvin and Tony Cummings on my Top Ten list for 2000. I gave Jack Ryan a good review here. Christopher Fleur de Lis was big fun. I've seen Michael Lucas quite a few times. Alec Martinez I've heard good things about.

 

On the other hand, Dereck Bishop was so-so, as was Scott Matthews; Nick Riley was a total bust; and I've been told to stay way clear of Anthony LaFont.

Some porn stars have great reviews, others have mixed-to-negative reviews, others have no reviews. You can say pretty much the same thing about the "civilian" escorts out there.

 

I, personally, have had *fabulous* luck with the pornstars I've hired over the years. I apply the same criteria as I do when hiring non-pornstars. If I detect attitude, they don't get hired. One of the guys and I have become such good friends we can't even have sex any more. Others are on standing orders to reserve time for me whenever they come through town.

 

Perhaps the friendships I've developed with many of the guys works in my favor. They'll steer me away from someone I might otherwise hire, and point out guys that I might otherwise overlook. Ultimately, the end-decision is mine but I've either been lucky or smart.

 

There are some incredibly nice guys in the porn world. Detecting them is the key.

Alec Martinez is a fantastic escort.The best I have met.My meeting with Scott Matthews was not so good. He is handsome and very honest and professional but I guess the chemistry was not right. I think porn stars are not so different from other escorts.There are all types. The client also has something to do with it.

I see this generalization - "they ALL seem to escort" - all the time. I disagree completely. I live in LA, and I see only the same handful of porn stars advertising over and over again. I have a long wish list of porn stars that I WISH would escort! :-)

. Well, I would have to say that some of the most wonderful sexual experiences (or even experiences, period) in my life have been with porn stars. I include Tony Cummings and Michael Vincenzo in that category. There have been a couple of others through the years, but they're no longer escorting. One of the worst sexual experiences in my life was also with a porn star (Anthony LaFont). And sometimes it's just all right (I had a fun time with Talvin DeMachio, but he didn't perform like I'd hoped, and I certainly didn't feel he met the hype for me).

. In short, I really can't generalize on this subject. One thing to keep in mind, is that if you have a bad time, it's just money. On the other hand, memories of experiences like MV and TC will probably last a lifetime. I have had memorable experiences with non-porn stars, too (Jody from Austin comes to mind). If there's a porn star you have the hots for, I would say go for it, unless you get bad vibes for some reason (you may wish to ask about whether he needs cash in advance). You could have a wonderful time you'll always remember. Or you may find yourself out $250-$300.

. Ask yourself, do you find yourself more often regretting opportunities you've missed, or the times you tried something and it didn't pan out? That may answer your original question.

By far MICHAEL VINCENZO is worth a visit anytime (only wish our time together in LA last Janucary could have been longer).

Part of the problem is that things are not what they were a few years ago in terms of porn stars. The business has become much more segmented.

 

I've really enjoyed watching people from beginning to end. Porn star or not a porn star it really just boils down to how an escort treats people. Those that dont treat people well always seem to say how much they make, have nothing to show for it, and are the ones always calling to see if there are any clients, then are the ones most likely to flake.

 

The ones that enjoy people and enjoy sex seem to be the happiest. They enjoy their work and plan ahead.

There's another thread going on this message center concerning Adam Hart who, at this point, can basically be described as a "former" porn star. During his career he seemed available only through various agencies and at the same time was quoted in Unzipped that he did not escort. He is now openly advertising in Frontiers. A thread was started inquiring if anyone had any experience with him. My response appears on that thread. Others who responded felt that he is a 100% straight man and all seem to agree that he is friendly. He advertises as an escort but he only provides "limited" muscle worship for a BIG fee. Because of his friendly demeanor, I tried a number of repeats with him hoping that things might improve - they never did so I stopped contacting him. I would be interested in hearing from those who may have seen him recently - sometimes these guys envolve and wake up to the fact that they better provide what they advertise. No one has ever posted a review on this site about him. Has anyone in the LA area picked up on his ad and seen him or is planning on seeing him? Threads like this can save people big bucks by providing such information. Everybody has to make a living - but it shouldn't be by a straight guy who knows how to take advantage his "name" and prey on the weaknesses of gay men. Let's hear some current feedback.
