Actually, scepticism is an acceptable spelling - particularly in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.  This forum has many members from outside of the USA, so you'll probably find many word spellings you might not be familiar with.  An online check for spelling variations can help reduce the likelihood of making unwarranted snarky comments.
