Just wondering how many of you douch (enema) before anal?

My observation. The more healthy (fiber, vegetables) your diet, the less it’s required. My diet is awful so I dare not try without it. I have tried without and been met with mixed results. I do find there is an optimal time/time limit from douching to action. Too soon and there may be water there. Too long and it’s AYOR.

I always ate healthy. Lots of fruit/vegetables/ whole grain etc.

When I was younger and bottoming a lot I didn't even know what douching was. Never had a messy hook up...and I used to go to sex parties and let everyone fuck me for hours.

I’m surprised this is even a question.

 

I only topped for the longest time since I have a huge dick - and if the bottom didn’t douche, I wasn’t fucking. Even with complete pro power bottom types there were still accidents - and that was with them saying they douched.
 

Being vers nowadays, there’s no way in hell id even attempt bottoming unless I was super clean.

Interesting how often this topic appears in discussions. When I was a twinkie in training in the 1970s, the subject was never brought up. Sure, sometimes there was a little brown when he or thee pulled out, but you chalked it up to a minor occupational hazard. Twice in my experience, once with one of my bottom FBs and once with a random trick, Mt Vesuvius erupted. Not pleasant, but rare, and just one of those things. Today douching appears to be de riguer. Have our diets gotten that much worse...or have we become more squeamish...or is it just with the internet we can have wide discussions that we previously couldn't? After going decades with never douching once, today I 100% do if I think I'll get nailed. And by the way, I happily use a "Du" brand enema bulb, made specifically for us, that has an air-gap back flow preventer so you don't pump yourself full of air.

I think it’s all three you mentioned above. Plus, some self-consciousness too! With age, maybe we just pay more attention to the details so we feel as comfortable and confident as possible.

Amazon just recommended the book Butt Seriously:  The Definitive Guide to Anal Health, Pleasure, and Everything In Between by Dr. Evan Goldstein.  I think I'll buy a copy.  326 pages is a LOT of info about the topic.  

A couple of quick searches showed me that Dr. Goldstein appears a lot to talk about anal health and anal sex on YouTube (here's his channel) and on a bunch of Podcasts.

Dr. Goldstein also says to avoid larger volumes of water when douching to prepare. Here's a YouTube Video of him explaining douching for Anal Sex.

I find that less is more doesn’t always work. It may depend on the time of day when you are anticipating sex and your regular rhythm of bms. Sometimes I find that more is required and then my hose comes in handy. 
 

When at a hotel I find it is often impossible to attach my hose as the hotel has used plumbers tape to fasten the show nozzle.
